They remind me of the descriptions of the predomonant coastal Moroccan Berbers of the 8th to 12th century which were in fact the "Masmuda" and were described as "stocky" unlike the other Berbers (Zanata, Sanhaja, Zaghawa, Wangara, Djawara), etc. and of course "black-skinned" by Nasir Khusroes, Abu Shama and Ibn Butlan others. The description of "stocky" has puzzled me for some time. I have a theory about a link of Masmuda Berbers to the ancient Sao that I haven't confirmed yet. [/QB][/QUOTE]
