Originally posted by Amun-Ra The Ultimate: [QB]

a large smoothly carved Cow megalith was uncovered under over 7 meters of sand. The bedrock beneath was also shaped, and the megaliths circles placed on top of the buried structures. No one knows how exactly the people of Nabta Playa knew of the stones' existence underneath the sand to build right on top of them. Some symbolic meaning may be implied with the burial of cow skeletons in carefully lain graves throughout the site. [/qb]
http://www.crystalinks.com/nabtaplayastonecircle.html [/QB]
I sent you PM about it but for the record, this stone is not directly related to the Nabta Playa archaeological site despite what the caption text under it seem to say (beside that people from the western desert and Nabta Playa later migrated toward the Nile during the green Sahara desertification bringing with them the sculpture (monumental) culture). The image is the 'Naqada II Cow Palette' and the caption is not related to that. The caption under the image should be applied to the first image I posted in this thread (The Nabta Playa Cow Stone Sculpture). [/QB]
