This thread has nothing to do with 'White' people...this thread is not about some "Black vs. 'White'".....this is a thread about, for, and celebrating BLACK BEAUTY....

Respectfully, and that being said, please create your own thread and post pictures of non-Black People in it, if you wish to celebrate the beauty of non-Black people...

Funny, irritating, and interesting, how 'White' people and Self-hating Black People feel the need to interfere and inject themSelves anywhere and everywhere there are Conscious, Self-Loving Black People interacting with each other...just can't leave us alone for some reason...move and gwey and 'low mi thread please....I know it's in your Nature to be a pestilence, but please leave my thread....

as this is not the thread for you.

You do 'real-eyes' (realize) you had/have the option to not read nor involve yourSelf in this thread that clearly is not about, nor has anything to do with, you or your people ('White' /non-Black People).... nor is this thread meant to denigrate non-Black People...it is a thread by a Black Person for other Black People in celebration of us/our beauty...you have no appreciation for Black People/Black Beauty, you do not celebrate us/it, so you really have no place here (this thread)...instead of creating your own thread celebrating your own people, you chose to interject yourSelf and your people into this thread....as is typical for your people, for some odd reason you choose to mix amongst those YOU apparently deem to be inferior and can't just seem to leave us alone...like mosquito.... Yeah yeah, black people are fabulous, but what does all this have to do with Egypt? I notice the title of this forum is 'Egyptsearch' and the section is 'Ancient Egypt'. I didn't interject my own people, I interjected some actual Egyptians. Shouldn't there be a backsarefabulous.com for these others?

^Please, this website has long since stopped revolving soley on Egypt. This Ancient Egypt forum is for non-Egyptology related discussions as stated in the description. Go to the Egyptology forum for your obsessive need to interject modern Egyptians into a thread for BLACK beauty. Try Ancient Egyptians for black people [Big Grin]

You want to know why?

Because he has an inferiority complex.

If he didn't believe he was inferior, he would not feel the need to display so called "black" beauty.

Most of the people on this forum have mental health problems. They suffer from detrimental low self-esteem.

The people that post here are either:

white supremacists who will write anything in order to keep their delusional race fantasies, mythologies, and hierarchies in place.

new world "blacks" who are mental midgets and have internalized what whites have said and written about them. So they spend their time trying to prove their worth to everyone including those same whites whom they claim are racist and don't like them.

[Frown] Please don't feed the trolls in this thread....they are like mosquitos, they can't leave us alone, it's in their Nature- see how he'd rather keep on keepin' on the distraction in this thread, rather than leave it and us alone....like a mosquito, he will keep buzzing and biting and causing an itch, but just don't bother scratch it...just ignore him/the itch from this point and let's keep the thread on track and focus on celebrating US right here....

on another note-

lol @ 'feeling inferior' ....no sah...I am an Afro-Caribbean Woman who is proud of her Black Beauty, which I inherited from my ancestors brought over from Mama Africa.... [Wink]

[Roll Eyes] You clearly missed the part where it was stated "This is a thread created by a Black Person FOR BLACK PEOPLE...." yes, those Black People who are proud of, and celebrate, their Blackness- really though, anyone who doesn't fit that bill shouldn't even be bothered with this thread....mosquitos...

btw, by your reasoning in your post above, then, the 'white' women on Stormfront with their 100 page thread of hundreds of pictures they've posted of 'White' women in celebration of what they consider to be their 'white' beauty have a clear inferiority complex...funny, I actually thought it was a nice thing for them to do- celebrate themSelves and how they feel about themSelves, all people should do so, and be able to do so in peace....

@ the other forum members, about two years maybe a little less back, I started a thread with this same title for this same purpose, but it disappeared....as well as a second one a little more recently but differently titled- Brada you may or may not recall it/them....

Africa has many environments (more than Europe) and why ignore the conclusions drawn in the other thread, specifically the conclusions drawn that non-Black MEN are ugly compared to Black MEN? This might explain your inferiority complex and race-obsessed pre-occupation with the black men of this forum. Maybe you secretly dream of gobbling a handsome Black penis so you are jealous of the Black women who have that all to themselves. [Smile]

Sonnet 130

By William Shakespeare
 - -
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun,
Coral is far more red than her lips red,
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun,
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks,
And in some perfumes is there more delight,
That in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a more pleasing sound,
I grant I never saw a goddess go,
My mistress when she walks treads on the ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

@ 'rahotep101'

[Roll Eyes] KMRT.....

You just can't help yourSelf can you...you just can't let us (Black People who love being Black People) have even one thread to ourSelves without interjecting something into it, be it a picture or a comment...however,

[Wink] I ain't mad at ya tho, for two reasons:

1) It seems to be in the Nature of 'White' People to be irresistibly drawn to us everywhere we are, because time and time again, you just can't seem to help yourSelves and leave us be;
and

2) One cannot be vex with the scorpion when it stings, because that's its Nature...

Lastly, please don't get Mike111 going on one of his rants regarding the Turks and thus completely mash up my thread with alla that bs (tho I do believe that you knew what you were doing with that Turk comment, and he will fall for that bait) [Roll Eyes] ...I've asked you more than once, and respectfully at that, to please 'low my thread as well as stop taking it off topic....I ask you, respectfully, would you (and hopefully a couple others) please give me and those who DO appreciate this thread, that one simple consideration?

Peace....

It's fascinating how on one hand it is claimed that "blacks" have diversity, but on the other hand you clearly from your postings you either think that:

1. "blacks" only have a certain range of skin color

or

2. you are fearful and are scared to show "blacks" who have a red, orange, beige, yellow, pale skin color.

Which is it?

1. blind

or

2. stupid.

Which is it?

(or, I'll give you a third option: you didn't view these links before your latest post; but then that would, of course, lead us to option 2....)

Black Beauty is Black Beauty, and how we Self-Loving Black Women and Men choose to celebrate it/us has nothing to do with you- mind ya business mosquito....if you don't like it, there is always the option that most adults with sense would take: stay out of the thread......

Sorry, I don't subscribe to that notion aka fukry....

that being said, this thread is not the place for you or she...if you want to celebrate that form of beauty then by all means, create your own thread doing so....

but I would appreciate if you would respect this thread and allow us to have something just for us....I overstand it's not in your Nature, but please try...

This thread is about the celebration of BLACK BEAUTY AND OUR AFRICANNESS, it is not meant to denigrate others but it is not the place for others....

Thanks in advance.

OK, if you don't subscribe to hypodescent than why post some images with mixed ancestry or maybe your title should be "Black and other Beauties" instead. You obviously are a confused, ignorant, Western uneducated slave descendant who projects your own culture on to the world and doesn't know the difference between a sociopolitical agenda and science. I bet you can't define 'Black people' in scientific terms only. You are too dumb to know that in certain African countries today, Black is a relative term reserved for natives and some AA visiting those countries are ridiculed as 'Whites' and/or 'Mutts'.

Self-esteem derives from self-accomplishment and self-love not from egocentrism.

^Seriously, the Nordic beauty thread was never serious anyways. Cassiterides wouldn't spend more than 20 minutes posting pictures in it, and by his own admission, it was just a Knee Jerk reaction to TruthandRights' threads. You really want to celebrate "Nordic beauty" stormfront is the place for you

In any event, if it really bothered you, you could have sent a message to ausar or just, oh I don't know ignored us? Even though cassiterides thread directly insulted this one, so I would make the argument the response he got from us WAS warranted. I recommend you make your own thread without the opening derogatory statements. No surprise you would resort to this childish behavior.

Of course she would- she is 'white' and we can NOT expect anything better outta DuttyGyal... [Roll Eyes]

she doesn't want to go to stormfront because she wants to play here with us Black People [Big Grin]

Her point failed, because her posting in this thread doesn't faze me in the least.... -

Though Truth be told, it is KING who is starting to annoy me in this thread just a tad bit...like he has a Black Woman fetish...this thread is about BLACK BEAUTY IN ALL OF ITS ASPECTS...not a thread to exploit the beauty of Black Women, so to speak (I may not have articulated that last thought quite exactly right, but I am sure one of the Conscious Brothas here knows what I am saying)....

No, I overstand it....but again, it's like he has a Black Woman fetish...it's a lil disturbing looking at the bigger picture I am looking at here...Black Beauty is not all about us Black Women looking sexy...WE ARE MORE THAN THAT...and so yes I am a bit offended because it comes off that is all he sees us as...like so many 'white' men that say they love dem some Black Women...BLACK BEAUTY DOES NOT = SEXINESS ALONE.....THERE IS NOTHING MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN BLACK LOVE AND THAT I PROMOTE...

Pom pom boy doesn't care about any of you. This is his feel good forum. He comes in here just to comfort his own disturbing thoughts about black people. He is just as much a racist as anyone he has ever accused of being the same. If he really thought highly of black people, he wouldn't be here thinking that you all need his help. It's good therapy for him to come in, wave his pom poms for you all, and call white people racists. He thinks you all need some reassurance from a white person.

There is absolutly NOTHING disrespectful of my posts about Black women. I posted mostly portrait pics of Black Women and knowing your not big on Light skin, I made sure they were chocolate Brown or darker. I showed women with Afros, Braids etc. All the things that makes Black women beautiful I post. Can you point to one of my pics that shows a overt sexual tinge and makes the women not look respectful?

Loving Black women is NOT a Fetish..I have never disrespected Black women nore have I ever shown anyone Black on this forum with Disrespect. I support ALL people on here and only when Attacked do I defend myself. How can you read so much into simply posting pics of Black Women? I have made countless threads on African diversity and If you have seen these threads, how can you say what you said?

I respect you TruthAndRights but you are making yourself look a bit defensive and paranoid for no reason.

Peace

Bahahahahahha

Your try at disrespect failed Village Idiot because what you think of me does not bother me in the Least. Your opinion is as valuable as a Clans man thinking he Knows what Blacks need to uplift themselves.

Village Idiot you seem to have more issues then anyone else on these forums. I would say some more things...But...You hold no VALUE.

Learn how to debate, and then come back and talk.

[Smile] My dear, I never said a word about you being disrespectful...if I felt you were, you should know by now how mi wuda deal wid you still....MUCH differently than I do now.... [Wink]

[Smile] I am not saying you are posting anything disrespectful- you are not, and I give thanks for the lack of slackness...but respectfully, I do think what I was trying to say went over your head....and true, maybe I didn't articulate it quite right so that cuda my fault...you should go back and read to get what I am saying, I should go back and read and see if there is another way to seh it, if you don't get it...

Respect everytime....

I do not profess to know what that man thinks...as of this point he has not disrespected me, we have been able to reason in a decent manner, and and he has shown ME no reason why he should not get a benefit of the doubt...my vibe is rarely wrong about a person....from I have been here, I have called it right each time with people...

IF he is here thinking that we 'need his help' then I must say you are 100% correct in what you say above...and IF, and again I do not profess to know this either way, that he thinks Black People need any reassuring from any 'white' person, he is sadly and sorely mistaken...

As an aside to KING-

If you do truly care about Black People, with all due respect babes, the best place for you to be is among your own kind- 'white' people- educating them, showing and teaching them...not here mingling with us...THAT my dear, as a 'white' man, is the best thing that you can do for Black People, and HUEmanity in general... There's nothing to debate. I have a good friend that is exactly the same way. She is quick to point out that she's not a racist. But if she is cut off in traffic by a black person, what's the first thing that you think comes out of her mouth?

I can see right through you pom pom boy. If you really respected these people, you would know that they don't need you to help them fight their own fights. People like you are the worst kind of racist. You accuse others of your own race as being racist, while trying to masquerade behind your own disturbing thoughts about black people. In that respect, you really don't think much about anyone but yourself. Everything that you post on this forum is all about you pom pom boy.

You think that it is ok to say the things about white people simply because you're white. You come here just to get your ego stroked. You're a pathetic little weasel.

Ignoring the village idiot, Let me just tell people that I belong to ALL RACES..No one race do I consider myself apart of. I don't promote Whites over Blacks or vice versa. I am in Love with the Human Family and I promote it anywhere I go. I have been on this forum a LONG Time and I was apart of the Glory days and now what the forums have become. I have never supported Any Race over another and I have never attacked or thought myself "Better" then any posters on these forums. I know I am a Child of God and All I want is for others to know that about themselves also. I have No motives other then Peace and Love showing, People be they Black or White have to resolve the differences they have and realize that we are All brothers and sisters to eachother.

Moving on

TruthAndRights

To tell you the Truth T&R, I use to go to other forums that were majority White and try to school them on the Black diversity and that we are all brothers.

Sadly though, the people would just become that much more racist and ignorant and no matter how much times I broke down a study on genetics, Anthropology etc they would distort and corrupt. I would ask the other members on this forum for Help when I was stuck on something and they like Djehuti would help but Ausar did not like the cross forum posting so I stopped doing that.

BUT

Any chance I get to discuss the things I discuss here with you guys to other people on different forums I jump at the chance. The only thing is I really don't know alot about other forums on the net other then Egyptsearch. I use to post on a website called Dodonna, but they Banned me for posting to much "African" centered material. Sadly many white run websites Ban anyone who does not toe the racist line of ignorance and anyone who speaks TRUTH on these websites will get Banned.

Truthcentric use to go to other forums to school them also and they would treat him the same way.

The FACTS stand though T&R that Egyptsearch is the Number 1 website for Africana, Egyptology etc so I only hope that I continue to learn so In real life I can show others the truth(Which I have tried to do more then once). I loved the forum when we had Posters Like Rasol, Evergreen, Multisphinx etc and I still love the forum now even though trolls tend to decide where and when this forum is going. As a Vet I respect all the New posters who have shown that they are Truthcentered.

Peace and Blessings always TruthAndRights.

Peace

IT IS TRIBAL SCARRING...IT'S SUBJECTIVE...I THINK IT ADDS TO HER BEAUTY...

 -
quote:
Jamati: As a West African I am of course very proud of your work and your representation of the continent. I know that there are many other sisters that feel the same way. Do you ever feel pressured by this adoration because our beauty is not always the Western standard?

Belinda: Yes, when I first got here 5 years ago it was very difficult to find work because of my scar, teeth and my hips. I was told that I was not thin enough and that I had to lose weight. You could be the most beautiful woman in the world but if someone does not step out on faith and give you a chance than you cannot be successful in this profession. You see it is very difficult to model, and the way you look may not be suitable for a certain designer, artistic concept or whatever. You have to find the right agency that will work with you. It is all about faith and about someone giving you a chance. There is a lot of pressure and competition in modeling because it is a tough business.

Jamati: Do you ever feel that there is not enough representation of African beauty in the Western media? If so how is your work changing that?

Belinda: Where I came from we do not have racism. Now I live here (US) and I see racism. You see things are changing for the better for black models. We are surviving and succeeding. We are not making as much money as the white girls but we are successful and our beauty is becoming more and more acceptable and appreciated. It is hard in any field to be black, not just modeling. But we are making it and we are getting more and more exposure everyday. Things are definitely getting better.

Jamati: Tell us a bit about your background-how and when decided to become a model?

Belinda: I started modeling in Ghana and I won the Miss Ghana Top Model in 1999. From there I got bookings in Cote d’ Ivoire and then I decided to try my hand at modeling in New York.

Jamati: OK let us talk about serious things…who is your absolute favorite designer and who have you not worked with that you want to work with?

Belinda: Robert Cavalli is my favorite. I love his clothes. The way he cuts. He cuts so well. I also like Marc Jacobs. I would love to do runway for Marc Jacobs and Robert Cavalli. I worship Georgia Armani. He opens his arms up for everyone. He has not had a show in NY for the past 25 years but he recently did one here and there were a great deal of black models that he chose to do the catwalk. You know 15 years ago only Iman, Naomi and Tyra were the black models… now there are many more of us and our beauty is also diverse and valued.

Jamati: So what are your campaigns…do you enjoy what you are doing with them?

Belinda: I have worked with Clairol and my hair was blonde so I don’t think that you would recongnize me. I have also worked with Dark and Lovely Soft Sheen and my hair color was bronze. These ads are all over the subways in New York City and they were also supposed to be in the January’s issue of VIBE magazine. This was great exposure for me and I hope to get other campaign work.

Jamati: Would you like to have a make-up campaign?

Belinda: Yes I would love to have a make up campaign. That is what it is all about. You know when a company is looking for a certain girl you can go on a casting call and compete with hundreds of models. If you are chosen out of the 100 or so then you are very lucky. At this time my agency makes the decision as to what type of casting calls I should go to but if given the opportunity I would definitely do a make-up campaign.

Jamati: I know that as a model you are constantly traveling for work. What do you do in your spare time?

Belinda: I live downtown and once in a while I travel to the African communities in The Bronx for parties and get togethers with my girlfriends who are also models. My best friends are from Somalia and Cote d’ Ivoire and when we get together we like to eat Kenke and African food in general. You would not even believe that we are models by the way we eat our African food.

Jamati: What about the ‘Faces of Africa’ modeling contest–do you think that it is very successful in terms of exposing the fashion scene to African women?

Belinda: I really do not think that they are doing very well. Oluchi was one of the few who became successful and Rama is not modeling at this time. It was a good effort on the part of the sponsors and organizers but a lot of the girls have not gone on to great success.

Jamati: That is so unfortunate. Why do you think the models have not gone on to great success?

Belinda: Well as I said before modeling in a tough business and it is especially hard for African girls who do not get with the right agency and who do not find work. The ‘Faces of Africa’ contest is a great concept but these girls that compete for it must have exposure in order to sustain themselves and the contest has not been able to do that.

My mother had gone off to Canada and left me outside my father’s gate. I was about three years old. Some strangers took me in, then my father took me from them. The first 13 years of my life were always back and forth, never settled. I had to start work at age 11.” –

All the black males on this forum only like the straight haired East African types (which have Caucasoid admixture), not the true afro-haired negroid type.

Black women are at the bottom in regards to beauty. Even the black male posters here all hate their own women, and only post pictures of straight haired thin nosed somalis.

A matter of fact, I noticed all nonblack women only want to compete with the average lower class black woman because they know that they have have no chance with a beautiful black woman who takes care of herself.

@ malibudusul

I would appreciate if you would stop posting so many photos of one person in this thread if you are going to post pictures in here....if it's multiple photos connected as one when it's found, that is something else and is fine...the point is our BLACKNESS AND OUR DIVERSITY with an emphasis on Napturalness not process....please and thank you...alla that is not necessary...

^We are indeed many shades. We have so many shades that they had to limit the number of shades of blacks and increase the number of shades for whites. Blacks on average have about 43 different shades and whites on average has about 5. Now they are saying that blacks have about 32 and whites have about 12.

I've covered all the pages and have confirmed 2 ideas:
Blacks are extremely mixed. Even here in Kenya you notice major differences between Somalis and true bantus a mere 400 km away.
Secondly black beauty blows away the paler measures of pulchritude. BW so dominate the usual standards of waist to hip ratio, fuller lips and bigger eyes that WW seem ordinary and insipid by comparison.
Here's a universally accepted white hottie,Megan Fox. See what I mean:
 -
It also explains the new found popularity of lip and ass implants.

^BS. There is no such thing as a "true
Bantu." Bantu is a language category not a ethnic
group or race.
And so called "mixtures" do not automatically explain
why people in Africa may not look all like. No one
hollers "race mix" at seeing brown skinned Portugese
why the hypocritical double standard for Africa because some look
different from others? As to fuller lips, etc etc
add to that brown skin, as in native Igbo peoples.
Hence the popularity of tanning among white people
to get rid of the pasty white look, or the diseased
looking freckles on white skin, particularly redheads.

Tropical climates are extremely
diverse – from humid rainforest, to
higher altitude cold zones, to arid deserts
with sharply dropping night
temperatures. Scientists find that nose
width is correlated with climate – with
narrower noses seen in dry, conditions
such as desert areas in eastern parts of
Africa.

QUOTE: "Tropical climates range from
oppressively hot and humid lowlands to
cold, snow-covered mountains, from hot,
dry deserts to cold, dry deserts, from
extreme seasonal variability of
precipitation to nearly constant
year-round conditions."
--Huston. M. (1994) Biological diversity:
the coexistence of species on changing
landscapes Cambridge university Press.
p 498

QUOTE: "An important function of the
nose is to warm and moisten inspired air.
When air is exhaled, some heat and
moisture are lost to the surroundings.
The longer the nasal passage, the more
efficient the nose is for warming and
moistening incoming air and also the
less heat and moisture are lost on
exhalation. A narrow, high nose gives a
longer nasal passage than a low, broad
nose. Therefore, in cold or dry
conditions, a high, narrow nose is
preferable for warming and moistening
air before it reaches the lings, and for
reducing loss of heat and moisture in
expired air. In hot, humid conditions a
low, broad nose serves to dissipate heat
(Wolpoff 1968; Franciscis and Long
1991)... The pattern of variation in nasal
index corresponds very broadly to that
expected if nasal form is indeed an
adaptation to regional climate.

The highest nasal index values, representing
broad, low noses, tend to be those of
populations in humid tropical regions of
Africa and south-east Asia. Populations
with low mean nasal indices (high,
narrow noses) tend to be found in the
cold, northern latitudes, and also in arid
regions, such as the desert areas of east
Africa and the Arabian peninsula.
..Davies found the nasal index taken in
the living was closely correlated with
skeletal nasal index. This suggests that
there should likewise be an association
between skeletal nasal index and
climatic zone, and indeed other workers
have found this to be the case.“
-- Mays. S. (2010). The Archaeology of
Human Bones. Pg 100-101

2011 study finds significant
correlation between nasal shape and
climate. Dry areas are common in
tropical zone micro-climates such as
deserts.

QUOTE: “"The nasal cavity is essential
for humidifying and warming the air
before it reaches the sensitive lungs.
Because humans inhabit environments
that can be seen as extreme from the
perspective of respiratory function, nasal
cavity shape is expected to show
climatic adaptation.. We report
significant correlations between nasal
cavity shape and climatic variables of
both temperature and humidity.
Variation in nasal cavity shape is
correlated with a cline from cold-dry
climates to hot-humid climates, with a
separate temperature and vapor pressure
effect. "
-- Noback, M. et al. (2011)
Climate-related variation of the human
nasal cavity. AJPA, 145: 4. 599-614

Igbos are a tribe that were known for have
many individuals with light skin. They were
called "red Igbos" and this fact was well known
by the European slave holders.

Contrary to common belief, European slave traders
were fairly informed about various African
ethnicities, leading to slavers targeting certain
ethnic groups which plantation owners preferred.
Ethnic groups consequently became fairly
saturated in certain parts of the Americas. The
Igbo where dispersed to colonies such as Jamaica,
Cuba, Haiti, Barbados, the United States, Belize
and Trinidad and Tobago, among others. Elements
of Igbo culture can still be found in these
places. [/i]
For example, in Jamaican Patois the Igbo
word unu, meaning you plural, is still used as
well as the term red Igbo (or red eboe) which
describes a black person with fair or "yellowish"
skin which many Igbos possess. This term had
originated from the reported prevalence of these
skin tones among the Igbo. The word Bim, a
colloquial term for Barbados, was commonly used
among enslaved Barbadians (Bajans).
This
word is said to have derived from bi mu in the Igbo language (or either bem, Ndi bem, Nwanyi
ibem or Nwoke ibem which means my people), but
may have other origins (see: Barbados
etymology).

NATIVE West Africa Igbos were people with light skin,
indeed, skin so light that some AFRICAN observers,
likened it to that of white men. The point is
that such diverse people exist in Africa,
independent of any race mix from outside either
as part of built-in native diversity. Africa's high
rates of albinism adds even more variety. Bug Igbos
are native West Africans with little European or
"Middle Eastern" mix. Te accounts of Equaino note
this way back:

QUOTE:

"He disengaged himself from other life experiences
and went back to a particular spot in his memory
to capture the racial distinctions he was able
to make. He saw no distinction in skin color
between the red men in Igboland and the white men
he met on the slave ship. "

--Jacob Korieh. 2009. Olaudah Equiano and the Igbo world: history, society and Atlantic. 2009

" Oye-Eboe" may be a version of the Igbo word
oyibo used in the nineteenth century to mean
"white man," Equiano clearly uses it to refer to
other Africans, perhaps the Aro slave traders. At
this point in is life, he tells us, he had not
yet seen or even heard of a European."

-- Vincent Carretta. 2005. Equiano, the African: biography of a self-made man. p15

 -
Light brown Igbo of West Africa has been well documented
and no race mix is involved.

And yet black african females use skin whitening cream to appear as white as possible. This is because black african males have always craved light skinned females (self-hate?).

''the majority of black men prefer light-skinned women as partners, girlfriends or wives. Several authors have stated that these light-skinned women are perceived as attractive, intelligent, moral, sexually more desirable, even chaste; whereas dark-skinned are regarded as mean, evil, stupid, even as not trust-worthy."
- Ntambwe, M. 2004

This preference is often put down to European influence. Myrdal (1944:697), for instance, felt that African-Americans were internalizing Euro-American color prejudice. Others, like Layng (2006), simply see an adoption of dominant norms of beauty: "it was the Europeans and their descendants who were both numerically and economically dominant. so it is not surprising that, over time, a greater number of African-Americans, especially those who were upwardly mobile, adopted the prevailing views on physical attractiveness."

Made in Africa?

There is evidence, however, that this aesthetic preference is native to Africa. Ardener (1954) found it to be widespread among the Ibo of Nigeria, including generations born before the colonial period. In a survey of the Human Relations Area Files, van den Berghe and Frost (1986) noted a consistent cross-cultural preference for lighter skin in women but not in men. Sub-Saharan Africa is no exception, as shown by these extracts from the ethnographic literature:

Bambara (Mali) -
The Bambara are not unmoved by the beauty of a woman's form; they can distinguish a well-formed body from a malformed one, a pretty woman from an ugly one, and they find a coppery skin more attractive than one of ebony black. (Henry 1910:217)

Tallensi (Ghana) -
In skin colour they vary from black through chocolate brown to bronze, which the natives call "red" (bon-ze'e) and regard as the most attractive bodily hue. (Fortes 1945:7)

Hausa (Nigeria) -
Light skin colour, referred to as "red", ranks high in the Hausa criteria of beauty; many variations of colour, from black to a very light reddish brown are seen. (Smith 1965:264)

Ibo (Nigeria) -
In Ibo culture, however, these yellowish or reddish complexions are considered more beautiful than the darker, ‘blacker,’ complexions. ... It is true that, in West Africa, government has for many years been identified with pale-skinned Europeans, but the Ibo evidence suggests that preference for paleness of complexion is indigenous. (Ardener 1954:71-72)

Azande (Sudan) –
Of the women and girls, some with babies, he kept the most beautiful in Zande eyes, those brightest of eye and clearest of skin and with full breasts, for his couch. (Evans-Pritchard 1937:60)

Berti (Sudan)
Men and women affirm without any hesitation that men are black, hot and hard and women are white, cold and soft. (Holy 1988:471)

Somali (Somalia) -
Men appreciate women of good height and stature, with good hips and breasts, and plump but not fat. A reddish tinged skin is thought highly of in preference to a dark dull black. (Lewis 1962:13)

Masai (Kenya, Tanzania) -
Further requirements for being regarded as beautiful are an oval face, white teeth, black gums, a skin color as light as possible ... (Merker 1910:18)

Rundi (Rwanda, Burundi) –
Beauty does not count very heavily, but a man is not displeased if people notice that his wife is attractive and well-fleshed, has a long and narrow nose, a light skin, and is somewhat like a cow. (Albert 1963:203)

Ganda (Uganda) -
There is, in respect of the ordinary negroid complexion, a preference for paleness deeply rooted in the Ganda ideal of beauty. ... The Ganda concept of skin pigmentation considers light coloured complexions to be differing shades of white. A dark brown skin colour is said to be — eruyeru, that is, somewhat white. A really brown-reddish-yellow person is said to be mweru = white, which in comparison would be considered to be blonde; and this in the Ganda aesthetic language is considered as red = myufu, the most perfect skin pigmentation. (Lugira 1970:34-35)

Nairobi (Kenya) –
In the future the increasing use of skin lightening creams such as "Ambi" may eventually reduce the importance of natural skin color. But whatever the case, in Nairobi of the 1960’s, as throughout much of Kenya, the lighter "brown" girls are usually considered to be more beautiful than "black" girls — and the more successful prostitutes are invariably "brown." (McVicar 1969:242)

Ila, Lunda, Luvale, and Chokwe (Zambia) -
Here too words meaning literally "white" are commonly used to refer to light skins though "red" may also be used. Light skins are admired just as much as is shown to occur among the Ibo, and young girls discussing the possible attractions of various young men have often been heard to emphasize "very black" as a point against someone. In the past at least one attraction of a light skin apart from its intrinsic appeal was the fact that the tattooing stood out against it in strong contrast. Very black skins are not infrequently thought to go hand in hand with inherited witchcraft and a light skin to indicate its absence. Dark-skinned women conscious of their possible disadvantage have been heard to tell men that light-skinned women will be found to be sexually unsatisfying. (White 1954)

Ngoni (Malawi) -
Young men say that what they like in a girl is a light skin colour, a pretty face, and the ability to dance and to copulate well. (Barnes 1951:30)

Kgatla (Botswana) -
... the generally admired type is a light-skinned girl of somewhat heavy build, with prominent breasts and large, firm buttocks. (Schapera 1966: 46)

Now now, while I am against Cassi trying to portray European features/standards of beauty as perfect and without fault, there's no reason to disrespect white people as though they can't have ANY good points in appearance...

@Cassi, demand for lighter skin in women is patriarchal among black (and white) misogynists. They want black women to look delicate and weaker. Before trying to pat yourself on the back over all that, try to think about what that means their attitude towards paler skin is. They assume it is weak. That's why they want the women to have it. He thinks she looks weaker and frailer standing next to him the lighter she is. In short, they think you're a "bitch." Even black men with lighter complexions deal with this. They're often portrayed as the "pretty boys" while darker toned men are portrayed as more masculine. Hate the how I'm using the word "bitch" btw, but I can't think of a better one I've seen used to convey my point. Black men who demand this are both racists and sexists and do not represent every black person anymore than your misogynistic beauty standards for white women do for white men. Women aren't in the wrong for having looks that defy patriarchy and not every white guy has standards that make him look like a woman bashing ass.

Light skin is considered an aesthetic, dark skin however isn't. It has little to do with misogyny. As far as Japan, females lighten their skin, its called Bihaku, ''where one aims to have perfect white skin'' (some men do as well). Other Asians, Black Sub-Saharan Africans and even Australian Aborigines practice the same. See the above list which records this among Sub-Saharan African cultures. This has nothing to do with a European or Caucasoid influence on Sub-Saharan Africans or Asians, since lightening the skin (artificially) among these races was being practiced hundreds of years before colonialism.

Virtually no one finds dark skin physically attractive, look at cultures globally and you will see the preference for white or lighter skin. Dark is considered ugly.

More trendy to be OLDER Japanese. Meanwhile it is more aesthetically pleasing to be darker in younger generations. Similar trends are being seen in places like the US.

Light skin as aesthetic appeal is rooted in desires for subordination and displays of power, even to a degree in Europeans. I didn't argue whether or not colonialism was or was not the cause. I'm for the most part, simply saying that's how it is especially in black communities. Light skinned MEN in black communities are stereotyped as pretty boys or as weak. Black people typically associate lighter skinned women the same. Even in European countries, I'm sure you've heard the phrase "tall, dark and handsome?" Darkness is associated with strength, boldness and therefore masculinity while pallid/pastel colors are associated with fragility and weakness and by extension...women.

Because a high majority of the population of US are mixed race. 60% of African-Americans have White European ancestry, and around 8% of White-Americans have Amerindian ancestry.

Most Americans are mutts and its trendy there to have the mixed-race phenotype. The rest of the world though isn't like America. Asia (particularly) East Asia takes pride in the fact it is racially homogenous, the same can be said for most European countries.

This is only true in certain Mediterranean cultures (ancient Greece, Italy etc). Males that were white skinned in the Mediterranen were only the nobility, philosophers or intellectuals, mainly because they were of Indo-European extraction and not native. White skin on males in ancient greece thus denoted the higher classes, but weakness.

In ancient northern europe culture in contrast light skin has always denoted warrior aristocracy and not fragility. If you look at all the national heroes and famous warriors of Norse legend you will see they are all pale white skinned.

Are you implying Africa lacks similar levels of physical diversity? I wouldn't go that route. Africa is the most heterogeneous place on the planet. Please explain why having on average about 10% white ancestry changes that they see light skin as weak and feminine? Similar attitudes can be seen in Africa. Most of the people bleaching their skin are women. Why? To look weaker and frail. Men are not bleaching like women are.

quote:

Tanning is popular because it communicates vacationing a lot and being rich enough to afford such a leisurely life, not because of any standard mixed race phenotype.
quote:

I just gave you an example of East Asians carrying positive associations with tans. Bear in mind its you who says they prefer being homogenous which weakens your position on this even more. Clearly being heterogenous or homogenous has nothing to do with the trend. You can see similar trends in China and Korean youth too.

quote:
Its rooted in the fact it is physically attractive. Dark skin however isn't.
And as I've demonstrated, that is not true. Anyways you're not thinking deep enough. Why would it still be attractive? As a symbol of wealth? That idea is old fashioned. Tanning is becoming increasingly popular to communicate that.

Today, the only significance pallid skin maintains, particularly among women is because it further associates them with weakness and fragility. Same with blonde. Blonde's are stereotyped as naive and dumb and childlike but for some reason there is an affinity among Europeans to portray their women as such.

Cassi, In contemporary society that saying is not limited to Medterranean cultures, which was the point.

^ I had no interest in this thread. Zaharan however came here to attack white people and posted people with pale white skin (and freckles) such as redheads look like a disease and ugly. This was obviously a direct attack at white people. Despite the fact Zaharan hides behind his pseudo-scientific race denialism (like most blacks do), he repeatedly exposes himself as an anti-white racist.

Feel free to actually get the thread back on topic with images at any time. Pointing fingers while doing nothing doesn't help. :/ At this point I'm only concerned with making sure no one is erroneously affiliating me with Cassi.

Nice roundup Truth, showing a diversity of styles and looks.
Despite heavy negative pressure to the contrary, poll
after poll shows black women having high levels of
self-esteem and confidence, even at the lower school levels.
They are not crying at home wishing to be somebody else.
Plenty of problems are on the table, but despite this,
they have their own thing going on, their own fashion,
their own style, and are confident in their own skins,
unimpressed with those dictating how they "should"
look, and don't need "clearance," permission or approval
from anyone else. The key is to keep building the
positive relentlessly, will ditching the negative.
Its a work in progress and they gots it going on.

^ I've noticed that you can't seem to stay out of this thread, which has nothing to do with you, nor you it....why don't you go find and dig up your 'yte beauty' thread and show some interest in your own women...leggo your clearly evident fascination with Black Women...it's all you ever talk about...have you no interest in yte women? If so, you sure don't show it, because you're all up in a Black Beauty thread instead of all up in your 'yte beauty' thread....try give a little time interest and attention to your own yte women...makes sense for a yte male to do so, no?

[Roll Eyes]

I am concerned with MY PEOPLE...you need to show a lot more concern for yours....but that topic is NOT for this thread so....

If this thread is meant to be about blacks then please restrict it to Negroids.

Instead most the posters here, for example Troll Patrol, post females who are heavily white admixed. These females he posts are never black.

The equivilant would be someone creating a thread on 'white beauty' and posting woman who are 1/4 black or admixed with another race. It makes zero sense.

This thread basically just prooves that there is no such thing as 'black beauty', as posters have to resort to including heavily white admixed females. [Roll Eyes]

The title says: "BLACK BEAUTY, spin-off from Black in Latin America thread".

TruthAndRights is the OP of this threat, how are you going to tell her what this thread is about? This just stupid.

You live in a FANTASY WORLD.

Again, this thread is not for you...do you not feel that the beauty in your thread is sufficient? Why do you not dig up your 'yte beauty' thread and concern yourself with your own women...No one here in this thread cares a bit what you think or have to say cah this thread is not by for nor about you or your people...

This thread was created by ME, a BLACK WOMAN, and no yte man is going to tell me what to put in this thread or not to put this thread or what restrictions to place on it- like I am a mod to enforce that *you duncebat* Your business is in and with your 'yte beauty' thread and yte women, go deal with your own thread and worry about restricting it to 'caucasoids' there....

vamoose jancro...or is it you just can't stay away from Black Women? If you are going to actually answer that, please create a thread as to that topic, this thread is not for that....

With all due respect,

[Roll Eyes]

[Confused] Why you want to do more crying about how Egyptians are dark skinned white people? It's over fraudhotep give it up.

AS YOU CAN SEE.. THE FILTHY PINK ASSED MONKEY HAS A PHOTO FETISH. BUT WE HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN THAT THEIR MONKEY AND APE DNA CAUSES ALL SORTS OF BEHAVIORL ISSUES HAVENT WE?

As you have figured out, this entire board consists of ONE sick degenerate that has created ficticious names to talk to itself in. There is NOONE on this site that can be trusted but me. The only links on this site that can be trusted are the ones that I provide for you! Here is a link that you can use as a resource and can be trusted!
http://www.raceandhistory.com/

http://www.cbpm.org/index.html

When you have finished reading this post check out this site to learn the truth about history and ALL civilzations. Do NOT be fooled by the real history link that the filthy monkey created using the race and history link as a guide. This is the ONLY site that can be trusted
http://www.raceandhistory.com/

Isnt it funny how this one little link destroys all of the charts, graphs and pics that the filthy monkey lies to us with? You now understand why the filthy monkey continues to spam the board with photos of modern day populations that had absolutely NOTHING to do with ancient Egypt

http://dnatribes.com/dnatribes-digest-2012-01-01.pdf

The next time one of these degenerates tries to tell you a lie just refer the moonkey to the latest DNA analysis on the ancient Egyptians, and then tell the faggot to crawl back in its cave!

http://dnatribes.com/dnatribes-digest-2012-01-01.pdf

This pretty much destroys all of the outdated and fallaceous sources that the silly monkey uses doesnt it?
http://dnatribes.com/dnatribes-digest-2012-01-01.pdf

The pig just keeps showing us why these crackers should not exist! They have genetically recessive genes and ion 50 years they will be the minority in BRITAIN!! THAT ALONE SHOULD TELL YOU THAT THEY WILL EVENTUALLY DIE OUT LIKE THE UNATURAL ABOMINATIONS THAT THEY ARE!

Look at the low IQ monkey with its charts and pictures LOL tHE dna analysis does not matter to this monkey, because it lives in a world of fantasy! lol

Folks, the monkey performs at my commend. I am this monkeys master! But then again all one needs to do is take a cursury look at this monkeys youtube page to understand the tenuous grip on reality that this monkey has! LOL
http://www.youtube.com/user/phoenician7

When the DNA analysis irrefutably shows that the modern day populations of South Africa, West Africa anmd central Africa are the ancestors of the ancient Egyptians what does a low IQ monkey do???

The low IQ monkey shows pictures and charts and munbles on and on about haplogroups while completely ignoring what the DNA analysis of the ancient Egyptians actually says LOL

the DNA analysis irrefutably shows that the modern day populations of South Africa, West Africa anmd central Africa are the ancestors of the ancient Egyptians. Thats what the DNA says, thats what the science says. This monkey in all of its fake names is very pathetic isnt it?

Black women are beyond beautiful - its hard to people to see these images because they are always pushing white beauty which I think is down right gross - pale skin, see through blue blood vessels gross figments.

I love black skin - I absolutely love everything about it - WE have to stop this media brainwashing making everyone wanting to be like white people and return back to our essence - which is way more beautiful then that pale skin garbage ...

The Black Woman (February 28, 1927)

Black queen of beauty, thou hast given color to the world!
Among other women thou art royal and the fairest!
Like the brightest of jewels in the regal diadem,
Shin’st thou, Goddess of Africa, Nature’s purest emblem!

Black men worship at thy virginal shrine of truest love,
Because in thine eyes are virtue’s steady and holy mark,
As we see in no other, clothed in silk or fine linen,
From ancient Venus, the Goddess, to mythical Helen.

When Africa stood at the head of the elder nations,
The Gods used to travel from foreign lands to look at thee:
On couch of costly Eastern materials, all perfumed,
Reclined thee, as in thy path flow’rs were strewn – sweetest that bloomed.

Thy transcendent marvelous beauty made the whole world mad,
Bringing Solomon to tears as he viewed thy comeliness;
Anthony and the elder Caesars wept at thy royal feet,
Preferring death than to leave thy presence, their foes to meet.

You, in all ages, have attracted the adoring world,
And caused many a bloody banner to be unfurled:
You have sat upon exalted and lofty eminence,
To see a world fight in your ancient African defense.

Today you have been dethroned, through the weakness of your men,
While, in frenzy, those who of yore craved your smiles and your hand-
Those who were all monsters and could not with love approach you-
Have insulted your pride and now attack your good virtue.

Because of disunion you became mother of the world,
Giving tinge of robust color to five continents,
Making a greater world of millions of colored races,
Whose claim to beauty is reflected through our black faces.

From the handsome Indian to European brunette,
There is a claim for that credit of their sunny beauty
That no one can e’er to take from thee, O Queen of all women

Who have borne trials and troubles and racial burden.
Once more we shall, in Africa, fight and conquer for you,
Restoring the pearly crown that proud Queen Sheba did wear:
Yea, it may mean blood, it may mean death; but still we shall fight,

Bearing our banners to Vict’ry, men of Afric’s might.
Superior Angels look like you in Heaven above,
For thou art fairest, queen of the seasons, queen of our love:
No condition sball make us ever in life desert thee,
Sweet Goddess of the ever green land and placid blue sea.

Marcus Garvey
