Thanks, Sashyra. Yes, I did, but none of the restaurants on that list serves the sort of food I'm looking for. There must be some small places which don't appear on Otlob, I just haven't come across any of them.

I shall consult my spy on Rehab - if she doesn't know where to get it, noone will.

edit: I googled it and found the phone number. And the menu is listed on Otlob for other locations of the same restaurant.

I've never used it so I can't say! Maybe it depends where you live in Cairo - a good buddy of mine who has since moved on used to swear by it.

The souk is the market area of Al rehab. Shabrawy is on teh left hand side of the market area, same side as the garages(mechanics) Also at the food court in Al rehab is Arrabiata restaurant, all egyptian food, foul and tamaia you can get there.

Mrs. Hassan, I know that the souq is the market area. But I have no clue what is where here, thus my question. I'm staying in the area around the nadi and the mall 1 … would the souq be within walking distance?

Apologies, but you did say where is teh souk? is it one of the malls? I thought you thought it was a mall. Your right next to and its in walking distance.... across the road...past Mall 1, past the british school and across the road from the banks.. around 5 mins walk.

I went to Arabiata this afternoon, but they told me "no fuul and t3ameya today". Obviously they ran out of it due to the Eid. Walked over to Shabrawy's but it was closed.
So I decided to order kushari.

I eat at Arabiata once a week or so and get the t3ameya from Shabrawy's regularly as well. Always tastes good.
