Christians had just as many of their ceremonial and cultic practices, if not more. The only difference between the Muslim and the Christian is that the Christian had the sense to get rid of them and update the religion into a modern society. On the other hand, the Muslim appears to want to go backwards and retrieve even the ones which have been disregarded hundreds of years ago.

Muslims doesn't think that religion is changeable they think that it is complete and no changes should occur to religion but of course society can change and the religion won't the problem is that all the west see is that there will be no evolution and modern society except if religion changes while muslims see that the religion can be a motive for revolution .. we need to show our example .. yeah the muslims current society may be behind the world but this is not because of islam as you usually note .. I believe and many other muslims do that we can reach utopia with islam and we can be at the top of the world .. it is like we think that we will approach the same results using another technique .. it is true that Christianity held europe from evolving in the past and this is because the core of christianity is not like Islam .. In christianity the church has full control unlike Islam .. also in Islam democracy should be one of the piles .. although this is not the situation today but Islam made it a duty for islamic society to use democracy "el shoraa" ... and the first democratic election was made in islam after Omar Ibn Elkhatab's .. anyhow the problem is that all the west sees is there bad experience with religion and they are generalizing it to all religion and trying also to force all others civilizations to follow the same culture .. horemheb might say that we impacted there society that's why they are backing up but I say that this was a reaction to there domination over the islamic countries government .. what I want to say that if they would let us we would show that there is another approach to modern life without banning and leaving religion .. yet they have oher interests in our world like Oil ... still we will have to wait and see what will happen

WHAT WOULD PROPHET MUHAMMAD HAVE DONE?

By Tarek Fatah

Keep to forgiveness (O Muhammad), and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant.
(7:199)

During his lifetime, Prophet Muhammad endured insults and ridicule on a daily basis. His opponents mocked his message and used physical violence to stop him from challenging the status quo.

At no stage during this ordeal did the Prophet lose his temper or react to these provocations. Tradition has it that he would, instead, offer a prayer of forgiveness to those who showed contempt for him.

Today, however, many followers of Prophet Muhammad are acting the exact opposite. Reacting to the provocative Danish cartoons about the Prophet, they are burning newspapers, threatening journalists, issuing bomb threats, yet claiming they are standing up for the Prophet himself.

I have seen the cartoons published by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. There is no question they are meant to hurt the feelings of Muslims. As I saw them, I had to restrain my anger. Once more, Muslims were being depicted as a violent people. (One particularly derisive cartoon showed the Prophet wearing a turban with a bomb inside it.

No one in the Muslim community is willing to buy into the notion that these cartoons were not meant to promote racism against Muslims. The editors may say otherwise, but the community knows better when it is depicted as the "other," to be scorned and sidelined.

Caricaturing racial minorities has been a tradition in Europe and North America since long before it became acceptable to deride Muslims. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it wasn't uncommon to see Jews and blacks depicted negatively. Today, thanks to the great work of many civil rights and anti-racism activists, no newspaper would invoke press freedom to depict Jews and blacks or their leaders the way the Danish paper depicted the Prophet.

Having said that, the way some Muslims have reacted to the provocation leaves a lot to be desired. Provoked, they walked blindfolded into a trap set for them, and came out worse than what they started with.

In Canada, we had a similar case, if not of the same magnitude. In the mid-90s, a Toronto man distributed highly inflammatory literature against Islam and the Prophet. Unlike our European colleagues and some fanatics of the Middle East, Canadian Muslims took up the case with the police and the gentleman was charged under Ontario hate laws and convicted. End of story.
In the Danish case, the Arab world's reaction, led by the Egyptian government, suggests there is more to it than meets the eye. Thousands in the Arab world have protested against the publication of the cartoons. The Danish paper has received bomb threats. Two armed groups threatened yesterday to target Frenchmen and Norwegians in the Palestinian territories, as well as Danes, after the caricatures were published in their countries.
Many believe that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's government is acting not for the love for Islam, but for love of the power it has usurped for decades.

Egyptian-American journalist Mona Eltahawy, a regular columnist for the London newspaper Sharq Alawsat, wrote in the Egyptian newspaper Al-Dastour: "Perhaps the Muslim governments who spearheaded the campaign -- led by Egypt -- felt this was an easy way to burnish their Islamic credentials at a time when domestic Islamists are stronger than they have been in many years."

For the Arab League to demand that the Danish government shut down the newspaper Jyllands-Posten shows how deeply entrenched dictatorial practices are in many Muslim countries. They are so accustomed to closing down their own newspapers, they could not understand why the Danish government could not issue a decree closing the Jyllands-Posten.

This posturing by Arab governments and Islamist movements is not in the tradition of Islam. These zealots should ask the question: What would Prophet Muhammad have done when faced with this insult?

He would, I suggest, have said a prayer for the cartoonist and "turned away from the ignorant," as Allah commanded him to do in the Qur'an.

Tarek Fatah is host of a weekly TV show on CTS-TV, The Muslim Chronicle, and is the communication director of the Muslim Canadian Congress. This article first appeared in The Globe and Mail.

Does anyone expect us to believe that a "religion of Peace" allows its converts and initiates to go around causing disturbances in the streets, killing and maiming people, burning and destroying properties and causing social unrest and rebellion?

Now I ask you, are these people ambassadors of God, or are they political agitators using the name of God for their own personal and political agendas?

Title: Islamic concept of Al-Taqiyah to infiltrate and destroy kafir countries
Author: Dr. Walid
Publication: BHARATIYA PRAGNA
Date: JUNE 2000 VOLUME 2 NUMBER 6
URL: http://www.pragna.org/Art20615.html

This article by Dr. Walid, a top scholar at the Islamic University, exposes our so-called secular Indian Muslims. By the doctrine of Al-Taqiyah, Muslims dominate crime syndicates, increase population by massive Bangladeshi infiltration and make temporary alliances with Dalits, Christians, etc.

In the early years of the Islamic conquest of the Arabian peninsula and in the Fatah (Arab-Islamic invasion and conquest of the upper Middle East and the outside world), a Muslim concept was devised to achieve success against the enemy (non Muslims), Al-Taqiyah. Al-Taqiyah, from the verb Ittaqu, means linguistically dodge the threat. Politically it means simulate whatever status you need in order to win the war against the enemy ...

According to Al-Taqiyah, Muslims were granted the Shar'iyee right (legitimacy) to infiltrate the Dar el-Harb (war zone), infiltrate the enemy's cities and forums and plant the seeds of discord and sedition. These agents were acting on behalf of the Muslim authority at war, and therefore were not considered as lying against or denouncing the tenants of Islam.

They were "legitimate" mujahedeen, whose mission was to undermine the enemy's resistance and level of mobilization. One of their major objectives was to cause a split among the enemy's camp while downplaying the issues related to Islam ("Oh, I am not religious." "Oh, that is not Islam, you are mistaken, there is so much misinformation." "Oh, it is in the interpretation." "Brother, Islam is all about peace and love and music just like in the 60s.") In many instances, they convinced their targeted audiences that Jihad is not aimed at them, that indigenous people are not targeted. Meanwhile the (allegedly) "un Islamic" Muslims continued their attacks on the target's property and life (e.g. Lashkar-e Toyiba, Mujahideen and Osama Bin Laden's
declaration of war against innocent American civilians).

They convinced many Jews that they will be protected from Christians, and they convinced many Christians that Jews were the mortal enemies, because they killed Issa (Jesus). They convinced the Aramaics, Copts, and Hebrews that the enemy is Greece, and signed peace agreements with the Bysantines Greeks at the expense of Maronite Aramaics, etc.

They convinced the knitted diversity of India to degrade into civil war by introduction of a variant Buddhist / mystical Islam (Sufism which is decried as "deviant Islam" used to ease the transition of new recruits from local communities) creating divisions (based on Muslim - Non Muslim) eventually fomenting unrest and chaos in the land to prepare it for waves of armed Invasion (Mohammad bin Qasim, Mahmud Ghaznavi, etc.).

Even today, India is bitterly divided and getting slowly Islamised as battle lines form between hordes of overzealous Muslims (armed and trained in madrasahs) and the more pacifist civilians of urban dwellings.

This Jihadic agency of subversion was one of the most fascinating and efficient arms of the conquest. In less than four decades, the Middle East fell to the Arab-Islamic rule [since Arab society was divided again between pagan and Muslim resulting in nephews and sons killing their uncles and fathers in cold blood] followed by North Africa and Central Asia [this was the era of hordes like tribal conquests where barbaric savages invaded pacifist civilians in towns of major civilizations; the same scenario replayed itself against the Arab-Islamic world with the Invasion of the Mongolian hordes].

Al-Taqiyah was a formidable weapon, used by the first dynasties and strategists. Today, scholars may identify it as deception. But the Jihadic deception was and still is more powerful than the James Bondian methods of Western classical intelligence tactics, for the simple reason that it has a civilizational, global dimension versus the narrow State interest of the regular Western subversive
methods.

Al-Taqiyah is still in use today (and is widely practised and acknowledged by the Shi'ite sect) but not necessarily State-organized. Arab-Islamic missionaries are slowly converting the disillusioned criminal classes of the Western world by feeding them a Western "moderate" version of Islam (at the same time denouncing the actions of Muslims in the rest of the world as Un Islamic e.g. Taliban, GIA & FIA [Armed Islamic Front] of Algeria, Hamas, Lashkar -e Toyiba, Bin Laden and company, etc.)

It is done to prevent the new converts from seeing the real face of Islam; at least until their faith or mental conditioning is strong enough to make them turn against their own country and people.

A good example is the growing influence of Islamists in the Americas. On the one hand, American embassies, trade facilities, soldiers and intelligence infrastructures are under attack (but denounced as un-Islamic for the benefit of the new American converts).

On the other hand, the multiplying Islamic community (due to illegal immigration, paper marriages, religious visas granted to the religious men) attempts to pass itself off as "peace loving" and patriotic. In their own circles, the same community will liberally and violently denounce America, the West and its values (freedom, individualism, secularism, capitalism, scientific materialism, benign rehabilitation of criminals, prevention of cruelty against animals, women and gay rights).

One can easily detect Taqiyah in the two discourses used by Islamist strategists. On the one hand, one comprehensive Islamist theory is attempting to mobilize the Middle East, and sometimes Western Christian leaders and intellectuals, against "evil Jews".

They are forming alliances with everyone from Animal Rights' groups (to attack the Jewish tradition of slaughter which is ironically similar in cruelty to the Islamic way) to Far Right fundamentalists (to push for censorship of critiques of Islam and attack every forward thinking movement like women's rights and gay rights).

We see considerable success on that level. And on the other hand, another Islamist comprehensive theory is attempting - with success also - to mobilize the Jews against "evil and pagan Christians".

One can easily detect the sophisticated work of Taqiyah, for the strategic objective of Islamists is to destroy the foundations of the non Muslim civilizations, as a prelude to the defeat of an isolated Israel, India, United States of America, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Egypt, Afghanistan, etc.

Taqiyah is not a unique phenomenon in history. Many strategists from all backgrounds implemented subversion. But the uniqueness of today's Taqiyah is its success within advanced and sophisticated societies. Taqiyah is winning massively because of the immense lack of knowledge among Western elites, both Jewish and Christian.

For interesting examples of Taqiyah methods, visit Christian discussion groups and forums and note the discourse of Islamist visitors aimed at undermining the Christian perception of Jews, and visit Jewish discussion groups and forums and note the subtle anti-Christian discourse of Islamist visitors. It is really informative and fascinating.

You don't understand a word .. I am not confusing sports with religion I am just comparing ... most of people are fans to some clubs but did all the people practice the same .. can you say that the team which the people are fan of is the reason for terror or this kind of practices .. just open your mind a bit .. you blame islam for this but you don't blame the team for that .. is that clear enough for you ..

Allright Bibo, I listen!:-)

I would not dare blame all of Islam. I am not able to see 'all' of it. I am just scared by hottempert idealists, autistic orhodoxy in whomever's faith or sect, political agitators and ignorant masses in 'both' our worlds, and whatever that means for worldpeace, understanding and the ability for me and my family to get along confidently with others around us.

I get the feeling that you believe that somehow this crisis getting worse will get us somewhere down the road to a better world?

well my faith comes from two things Quran then analysis .. God says:" and except god pushes people toward each other, else the world and skies would ruin"
Also I think that this clash can make people try to understand about islam and muslims and many might respect us afterward we don't hate people as they claim .. we need the best for all .. and this kind of understanding might lead to a more stable and respect between us, which will lead to a better world if there is no arrogance we can respect each others.

All we hear coming out of the middle east is anti American dribble, are we supposed to respect that?
Supporting peace in Palestine would be helpful as well.

Bibo, you are right for some part I guess. More of us will understand the need to be interested in each other since we have to live together and work together and therefore have to find ways of respecting each other without loosing our own dignity. But the violence part of it, will only widen the gap I am afraid.

Well, usually violence is an expected result between clashes and sometimes violence lead to respect .. and believe me this is true and it might happened with you in the kindergarten or so, this is just an opnion I dunno where we are going but

As for Horemheb I guess I have made my point clear I can't make you respect me unless you want to know about me, don't do pre-decision about me .. Violence is everywhere .. take a look and you will see.
I wanna give you example Horemheb, if Salahdin react with violence to the crusaides, things would have changed a lot .. the problem is that even that he have done this, still the west thinks of Islam as the evil .. and even after this crusaide still we were thought of as devils .. actually we don't care but the problem is that you don't do effort to understand us and you pre-judged us. and this doesn't matter because in fact the true islam will vanguish all of these judges as what had happened with Saladin .. and may be still you won't respect us and we won't care ..

bibo, If there is something we do not know about you then by all means tell us. Muslims in the middle east could start by treating their women like humans and not dogs. How about joing the global economy and dismanteling terror. Muslims could get rid of terror a lot easier than we can. A reasonable peace with Israel would be a good start as well. If you want respect from people around the world acting like civilized 21st century people would go a long way in gaining that. The problem is, you can't fight everyone and everyone in the world is going another direction from many Muslims.

well bibo, you make peace with Israel because you need to . You have lost that battle and until you wake up and smell the coffee and stop killing people in palestine nobody is going to respect you. I do not blame arabs for fighting in Israel as long as they had a chance to win but that chance is gone.

as for women, nonsense, I know how they are treated. I see them walking around all the time with their heads covered up and wearing those Berks's....disgusting treatment.

For one thing, if you want respect from the rest of the world get Islam out of the government and back in the Mosque where it belongs.
Whgen 7000 people go out in the streets burning and killing over a damn cartoon people around the world think you guys are nuts.

Bibo, lets be realistic. At least a porn star makes a CHOICE as to how she wants to live her life. The fact is, the choice belongs to her, not to you and not to some old dried up Mullah.
She is the one that has to account for it in the next life, not you. Whether she wants to be mother Theresa or a porn star is frankly none of your business. Can you understand that concept?

Do I think who should surrender? I think Palestinans should stop fighting and sign a peace deal while they still can if that is what you mean. They have no other choice in this world than to do that or lose more ground. When the Palestinians turned town the deal Clinton brokered in 1999 many of us gave up on them. It was obvious that they did not want peace.
If you think Israel is going to give up that land you have lost your mind. You have got to know by this time that it cannot happen.

Editor unrepentant over cartoons

When asked whether he regretted his decision to publish the Mohammed cartoons, in light of the firestorm they unleashed in the Islamic world and threats against him, Flemming said it was like asking a rape victim whether she regretted wearing a short skirt.

Israeli group announces anti-Semitic cartoons contest!

A Danish paper publishes a cartoon that mocks Muslims.
An Iranian paper responds with a Holocaust cartoons contest -
- Now a group of Israelis announce their own anti-Semitic cartoons contest!

Amitai Sandy (29), graphic artist and publisher of Dimona Comix Publishing, from Tel-Aviv, Israel, has followed the unfolding of the “Muhammad cartoon-gate” events in amazement, until finally he came up with the right answer to all this insanity - and so he announced today the launch of a new anti-Semitic cartoons contest - this time drawn by Jews themselves!

“We’ll show the world we can do the best, sharpest, most offensive Jew hating cartoons ever published!” said Sandy “No Iranian will beat us on our home turf!”

The contest has been announced today on the www.boomka.org website, and the initiator accept submissions of cartoons, caricatures and short comic strips from people all over the world. The deadline is Sunday March 5, and the best works will be displayed in an Exhibition in Tel-Aviv, Israel.

Sandy is now in the process of arranging sponsorships of large organizations, and promises lucrative prizes for the winners, including of course the famous Matzo-bread baked with the blood of Christian children.

If you think Israel is going to give up that land you have lost your mind. You have got to know by this time that it cannot happen.

So it is now about CHOICE .. Well HITLER had made a CHOICE to conquer the world why did people fight that .. Any serial killer Made a CHOICE to kill people why is that a crime .. we don't live alone what you are doing will affect me .. you have all the choices in what won't affect me but when this will affect me or the society .. STOP .. that's the Urban attitude .. it is not about taking choices it is about the effect of your choices on the society .. Am I talking fancy now ..
How can I make peace with someone whom take my land .. someone whom deprived me from my rights killed and raped my family .. I would die for my right, I would die for my dignity, I would die for my pride and I would die for everything I stand for I can't let my nation vanish as if we are dieing then I would like to die with my pride .. you don't have this it is your problem and it is THERE CHOICE .. "you gave a porn star a choice while depriving palstinian from ther CHOICES" .. Fair enough

I don't think that this is going to get us anywhere but only they are trying to show the west that they have double standards

Life just ain't fair Bibo!
We all have choices in how to respond, that really is our own responsibility. It is not fair that China conquered Tibet, yet the Dalai Lama does not encourage his followers to go suicide themselves in Being! I hope and pray that his persistence to follow the road of non-violence will pay of someday.
Hitler conquered the Netherlands and I am so very greatfull that Americans and British and troops from Marocco, the Dutch Gyana's, Indonesia, the Carribean joint forces and freed us. But the Americans did 'free' the Irakees from Saddam Hussein and it did not work out well.
There were several 'rosewars' who freed the easterneuropean countries from dicators, but the chinese studentuprising unfortunately did not free the Chinese. What about it Bibo.
I believe, for ourselves we need to fight a 'honourable' fight, even violence can be honourable, especially if you are the one suffering from the terror, and try not to compromise to the oppressors low. But if we loose, we have to deal with things too!

I am sure I did see a lot of cartoons depicting Sharon, his predecessors, jewish orthodoxy and the political situation in Israel. That never did hurt me personally, how could it!:-) Nothing happened, no-one was harmed.
But the fatwah for Salman Rushdie killed a fellow student of mine that accidently was in the same hotel the Turkish Publisher of the book was and got bombed. Over a book! Last night I spoke to a friend of mine, she does not dare take her foreign (muslim) husband to the airport afraid of an attack of muslimterrorists (we have been warned for this and for the public transportation) where she is the mother of young children and can't be missed.
And we would be denied to relieve some of the tension by drawing a picture? How about that Bibo!
And you believe some respect will come out from this imagedeciding events? I am not at war with my muslimneighbours anyway.

I am against all terror but that's not islam preachings, I have noted before these are individual actions that people think they are benefiting islam but in fact they are hurting it and it is not from islam .. sorry for your friend .. but the west has killed from us more than just an incedent.
Still I think that may be there is a lot of exaggeration in how they deal with us and I don't blame you as I think that this would be a normal human respond .. may be the west is afraid from us but they don't know us that's why you fear us, Demania have you been to Egypt
I still believe there is some respect that will come .. and as I noted I am not sure, I can't be sure, no body but god whom knows what time will bring, it is what I hope that will happen and I think so. I can respect you Demiana and I can respect your fears .. and if you can respect me and respect my fears then ISA this will all come up with a new mutual esteem
I think that people learn to respect each others through friction between them and this happens on daily basis .. usually people can force each other to respecting them .. and I don't mean here fear .. because no respect will come out of fear..
Demiana, people here have also fears from you , the western intention toward the east were wether to even steal them "colonlization" or to deprive them from there rights "Isreal and plastine" .. what do you expect from us? until we learn to respect each other I don't expect that this violence will ever stop, yet I think that eventually this will happen when I don't know.
well may be Life is not fair

bibo, Its good that you do not approve terror, you shsould condem it every chance you get. I note that you continue to bring up Israel as a sore spot. Keep in mind that Muslims have no rights in Israel. Their rights cannot be violated because they do not exist. That land now belongs to another group of people and has for nearly three quarters of a century.

Thanks for the reply Bibo, I can understand the fear for being overruled by western countries/institutions. The response should be to work on you're strengths I guess (what do I know, I live in peace and comfort since birth).
I have been to Egypt several times with my family. But if things get worse, I can't go anymore, since I am fairheaded and blue-eyed. In this sort of violence mixed couples get caught, see the last war around Sarajevo and the horrible things happened in Africa/Congo. If people get to choose sights what to do?
I have never been afraid in Egypt, but sometimes annoyed and frustrated for seeing young men and women turn against me as if I am their enemy, where I am the one most interested since I am married to an Egyptian. I believe in Egypt as here, most people don't want anyone to get hurt, and I am sure that if in any danger I can rely on Egyptians to help me out.

And yes, you are right Bibo, I too believe conflict is an opportunity for better understanding and respect, if played out well and with restraint, trying to go back and forth listening and arguing, not bombing!:-)

Horemheb, I don't care about Isreal .. they will get out sooner or later, believe that or not, I was only answering your implication that palastinians are terrorists because they fight for what they saw is there right which is there choice however you agree for women to work a prostitute because it is her choice, I think that what said is just some media stereotypes and I expect that as a normal human behavior, people are affected by what they hear and see but believe me sometimes this is not the truth, and there is no need to argue about Isreal I was only making a comparison, I don't care to bring that out anymore and I truely don't have any hatred against any jew, unless he is carring a gun and threatining a plastinian brother
Demiana, you are always welcomed in Egypt and don't panic, you can come and you will be safe, ISA, there are thousands may be tens of thousands of europian here that lives in peace, and this is not a new thing about Egypt or most of the arabs we are known for our hospitality .. yet some people are trying to change this picture .. but I can assure you that Egypt is safe ISA.
I hate bombing as you as anyone else .. but this is not us this is not islam, truely and you have seen Egypt but next time when you come try to mingle a bit but bring an Egyptain with you your wife is OK.

To every Muslim on this planet, irrespective of cultural, geographical and political differences, Muhummed (PBUH), is Allah's greatest creation and was sent as a mercy for all mankind. A thousand million Muslims however, do not require any surveys, lists or research to arrive at this conclusion. It is a non-negotiable article of faith that Muhummed (PBUH) is the greatest.
