"The Land of Ham". We get also another word that is related in the Afro-Asiatic languages, "The Land of Kem". Ham and Kem have the same meaning. Both Ham and Kem are Afro-Asiatic words that denote burnt. In Indo-European language we also have something similar, Ethiopia, which means Burnt face.
Ham = Kem = Ethiopia - Land of the Burnt faces.
The Land of Kem = Egypt = Land of the Burnt faces.

^ Sun-burnt? Ethiopians are not Sun Burnt they are Black. The implication is that Ham, Kem and Ethiopia meant the same thing - Burnt as in Blackened.
