I ask because I notice most of their work is based primarily on secondary sources. To my knowledge(correct If am wrong)only Diop had his own research facility in Dakar. Am aware of the politics of mainstream science retaining their stranglehold on reality and the economics of say a 6 month dig in Egypt,Sumeria or Harappa (satellite imagery,ground radar,translators etc etc) but this is the only way to tell or OWN STORY. All too often the usual suspects deliberately distort findings in ways we all know leaving us the burden of deconstructing their subtle codes and outright falsehoods. Can anyone answer this?

There are research institutes in Nigerian Universities such as University of Nigeria Nsukka, and the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
They are carrying out primary research work on Muurish history (Nigerian history) as well as educating new generations of researchers and historians.
Funding ofcourse is always a problem, but they are there, in many diverse fields.

Afrocentric researchers have always depended on primary research done by Euros. This is due to the lack of funding and lack of access to primary material until it is published.
This means that the Afrocentric researcher must obtain a good background in the research methods of the field they choose to explore and learn foreign languages. The ability to apply proper methods of research and read foreign languages allows you to become an educated consumer of the research literature; and provide you with the ability to evaluate the research literature and see the underlining data that support well established afrocentric paradigms.
What you may not know is that their is structure to the afrocentric social science. And that the Afrocentric researcher can not expect to be supported by others.
