That Igbos are considered the "Jews of West Africa" is a routine cultural comparison. Jamaicans have at various times and places been considered "black Jews" of America- hence the old New York moniker: JEW-maican, for the aggressive, entrepreneurial, thrifty Ja-man, sometimes resented by native born blacks. Likewise the Bajan- as the old Harlem saying went: "Only the Bajan can withstand the Jew" - a tribute to their hard-nosed work and business approach.
