W.E.B. Dubois, seen by many as Black America's preeminent intellectual once wrote that he saw Africa as his "fatherland" and as result much of his intellectual interests were for that continent. His text "The World and Africa" testifies to that.
Would contemporary black intellectuals agree with him?

I believe that most Black intellectuals would see Africa, as the fatherland, that's why they accept the African American identity.
The only people who would disagree with this idea are AAs who belong to religious cults. Due to an inferiority complex these Blacks look to Asia as their origin.
