https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/07/us/politics/georgia-senate-runoff-explainer.html

Georgia's runoff law was created in the 1960s as a way to preserve white political power in a majority-white state and diminish the influence of Black politicians who could more easily win in a multicandidate race with a plurality of the vote, according to an Interior Department report.

Since the 1990s, Democrats have won only one of seven statewide runoffs in general or special elections, according to Inside Elections, the nonpartisan and works political newsletter.

Senator David Perdue, a Republican, was facing a normal re-election race for the seat he won in 2014. In addition, Senator Kelly Loeffler, another Republican appointed last year to be succeed Senator Johnny Isakson after he retired because of health issues, was facing a special election to serve out the remainder of his term until 2022.

Both of their races went to runoffs because neither they nor their challengers garnered at least 50 percent of the vote.

After a prolonged count that ended on Friday night, Mr. Perdue fell just short of the majority he would have needed to win re-election against Jon Ossoff, a Democrat, sending both of them to a runoff. In 2017, Mr. Ossoff lost in a runoff election for seat in the House.

It has been clear since Tuesday that Ms. Loeffler's race would be decided in a runoff, after the Rev. Dr. Raphael Warnock, a Democrat, and Ms. Loeffler emerged as the top two finishers in a crowded field competing to replace Mr. Isakson.

Warnock and Ossoff

Kamala Harris to stump for Ossoff, Warnock in Georgia.
"Send me these two men and we'll control the Senate and change the lives of the people of Georgia," Biden said Tuesday.

Warnock is going head-to-head with Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.), while Ossoff is facing off against Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.).

Recent polling shows they're both tight races.

Don't misconstrue the subject. Doing one of Lioness's number. Muddying the water.

Martial Law is not to determine the election. Martial Law is to put a stop to everything, seize the ballot machines and ballots, audit(not recount) the votes and determine who really won since the Court would not even look at the evidence. Keeping in mind the rumor that Roberts is afraid to listen to the argument and evidence because of the fear of the Left and how they would respond.

Can't believe the RNC is scared of a few fagks. Sometimes there are justified wars. Which is worst? The US becoming another banana republic where elections are stolen whenever a dictator wishes. The lawlessness has to stop otherwise this will fundamentally change the country forever not that there aren't problems and racism. But I think this is be worst. Becoming a Banana Republic.

Maybe so but about 30% of the legislature is Black. Again, my head is not in the sand. There is racism.

The clever thing to do if you are trying to steal the election is to accuse your opponent of trying to steal the election while you are doing it.

However the tactic doesn't always work and you find yourself retreating to Florida or escorted out of the building

It appears to be a completely solid headline that on his last Friday in office the President is planning a new coup plot in league with the MyPillow guy from the commercials. This is neither parody nor hyperbole.

quote:
WaPo photographer got a close-up of the My Pillow guy's notes.

Hard to read. Seems to push for using "martial law if necessary."

References Sidney Powell and, I think, an attorney at the NSA ("Fort Mead" sic). Advocates for Trump to "move Kash Patel to acting CIA
