Egyptians have this 'fun' way of changing their loved ones original names to nicknames that could sound a bit strange to foreigners...
But it is really a loving way to call people we care for...
I thought of letting you know...for starters.. what you would be called IF your member name was your real name ~ we can do real names if any are interested or even guess and have a good 'caring' laugh if you wish...:
For example---->
akshar: keshkesh penny: nini shareen: sharshar or shoushou chell67: shoushou or lolla debbie; bibi or didi luxorlover; lucky or loulou or lolla monica: mon mon jaguar: jagoura egypt_prince: ya prince ya prince kimo_the_maniac_; kimkim omeelbanaate;biba dreamcatcher; dreamy or mimi katrina: kattakito
But you have to start posting, so that I can come up with more

it is a nickname/loving way/ for another name...Yours probably made him spontaneously call you Shoushou In Egypt for example: Shahira is called shoushou... Maybe: Shelley could be called Shoushou if in Egypt.. or other names that start with Sh for example...

I have got lolla, wasn't that a song by barry manillo? (now i really am showing my age). One of my sons has a lot of nicknames at school, he is called Niall, it is Irish for Neil although it is pronounced Nile as in the river so he get's called Egypt,River, River Nile. What do the Egyptians call the River NIle?? I hope it is not Nile or when we are in Luxor i will have to make him stand right beside me, i will cause mass confusion else if he wanders off and i walk around shouting ,Nile, where are you? or everyone will think i am barking mad, nothing new there then

Loulou is far more interesting than the one I was baptised with. That came from somewhere in another century. (No I won't tell you what it is

Word of warning though....DO NOT take on the SN LuxorLouLou. She was here once before and had herself quite the reputation in Luxor. If Shareen comes back to see this, she will laugh her ass off thinking about ol LuxorLouLou.

She was a hottie!
ROFLMAO!!!! Wonder what happened to her? LL..... please please please do not use that nickname! The original LuxorLoulou is better known in Luxor than any of us ever could be!

I'll ditch the Loulou quick then - I'm in enough trouble already and I'm too old to cope with all this excitement. (Was she that bad !! - must have been a busy girl )
I thought about using 'Lucky' but I don't feel too clever and lucky at the moment (there has just been a full moon and my eyebrows are still hairy and my werewolf suit has a tear in it after an encounter with a couple of gremlins).
Suggestions please for a nickname for Luxlorlover. (Nice ones only please. (Saucy is OK). I am still fragile.

LL Lets just say she is the first female I have ever known who could make the Corniche guys run in the opposite direction

Shareen, Glad you appreciated that as much as I thought you might. And who knows, maybe ol LuxorLouLou got herself a job and a legitimate flat and is a member of good standing on one of these boards. You never know. Truth can be stranger than fiction sometimes.

lmao. I am either shoushou or lolla, so thats whore or lolla as in "her name was lolla, she was a showgirl". Sssshhhh, better keep that quiet or else Luxorloulou will think i am competition

how do you manage to turn a simple thread into 'whore' names? throwing in the arabic transliteration of 'whore' casually sticking it near the words of wisdom of an Islamic law doctor too.
you are amazing.I have to salute you, and sign off.

And you are sooo right about the nicknames. Am not gonna say my real name here . But my Egyptian friends were like: You're name is too long...from now on you'll just be Ady.
