Hello All, I am returning to Canada soon inshallah and I have to sell my stuff before I go. I have for sale this dining room set which includes all the dishes and ornaments pictured below as well as a 3 piece miniature table and chairs with fishbowl - even the chinese fighting fish comes included. I am asking 4000 l.e. total for everything

Wow thats a very ornate set . I like your blue and gold teapot, or actually I like the sugar holder -is that what it is?It reminds me of some batik things. what does the fighting fish do? How do you care for it?

PC, I'm sure many people in Ismailia would love to buy it, but you need to find a way to advertise about it there.
Can you find someone to print out an ad in Arabic for you? Then you can hang it at the entrance of neighboring buildings..
It also comes in handy to get the tongues started and scandalize the loser. Posts: 8756 | From: Tax-Free Zone | Registered: Jul 2005

I dont want to scandalize anyone, just wish to divorce in kindness as Allah tells us. I can't go anywhere I have the baby, plus I am pregnant and I am not well in my health...I can't get down the 5 floors easily also. I have advertised it by word of mouth and people say they are going to buy it but then they change thier mind, same thing with the kitchen, I was selling and some other stuff. its like they say i will buy it to make me feel good and then they dont buy it. its the weirdest phenomenon.

A colleague of mine is from Ismailiyya. I'll ask her if she knows anyone who's interested. She has a lot of contacts there.
Just curious, but did YOU buy this stuff or your husband? Looks very...er...old fashioned Egyptian.

I bought it myself brand new 5 months ago, this style is unique to me because we don't have stuff like that back in the west...so maybe its old fashioned to egyptians but having character for a foreigner? I dont knonw I like it and would love to bring it with me to canada but i need the money to travel because I stopped working during my last pregnancy. I paid 1500 l.e. just for the dishes and linens inside it and 4000 for the dinig room itself plus another 500 for the two chair set with fishbowl and table...so I am selling it for a bit more than half price...considering it has never been sat on I think thats a steal.
