Ok soooo...I'm sorry I'm bombarding all of you with "moving to Egypt" questions. But here's another! hehe

How did you all find a flat to live in? And in your opinion, what's the best way? And (as if that's not enough) If i'm looking for a furnished 3 bedroom flat w/balcony in Nasr City, Misr Gideda, Heliopolis area..how much should it be w/out being ripped off?

Thanks!

I personally payed for the assistance(nothing is free in egypt so better pay on your free will:). Prices range from 100 dollars to few 1000s of dollars/month... depends what you want and who's with you in the process of "looking". I can give you contacts/more info if you need assistance. I've found apartment like in few days.

I found my first flat through a simsar, an agency specialised in finding flats for rent. He tried to rip us off when the time came to pay his commission. He first said 10% of 1 month rent from us and 1 month rent from the landlady. Then, he said, he would take 1 month from her and another mother from us but we didnt agree and gave him only 10%, plus the money from the landlady. He complained and kept coming to our flat so he stopped answering the door and he eventually gave up.

The second flat, I found when my friend asked a garbage guy in the street about flat for rent and he showed it to us.
