I want to rent a flat for my wife with a child 11 yeaes old in Alexandria for a long term period. Budget is 1500 LE/monthly for renting. Is it possible? Is there Russian community? My e-mail address is kostyarich@hotmail.ru

On a joint military exercise an English soldier, an American solider,and a Russian soldier found them- selves sharing a tent while on a military exercise and the conversation turned towards how well fed each of them was.
"In the Russian army we get 2000 calories of food a day" said the Russian.
"Well," said the Englishman, "in the British army we are given 4000 calories of food a day."

Thank you very much! I`m very interested in several things: 1. cost of life: food, transport, water, electricity, gas 2. cost of private lessons (languages) 3. Is there developed horse riding (equitation)?

I have seen a badge/sticker of a horse on my friend's car window, I think it's because he is part of a horse club, i'll find out for you tommorrow.
for your expenses take the following in consideration: 1. food - cooking or eating out - how many times per month/week 2. transportation/traveling - taxis or public transportation (they're not that bad in alex) how often and where 3. extra-curricula activity/socializing - clubs etc how often per week/month
you can get a rough idea of your living cost based on that.

Thank you for your reply. We live not luxury. We don`t eat black caviar. We don`t use taxi all the day. We don`t drink a lot of gin, vodka, others strong drinks. I meant average expenses for the family whicj cosists of one lady and his son. Excluding expenses for schools, amusement... Apartement for example costs 1000 LE. How much in average to pay for water, electricity, cooking gas...? Only appoximate. I can evaluate it in London, Paris, Barcelona and of course in Moscow. But in Egypt!!! I think it costs several times less.
