What are the restrictions on bringing a pet into Egypt as a companion animal?
Not quite a communcable disease but more the quality of life conditions, aging diseases and so forth.
And I know already the pet needs to be cleared by a vet with official paperwork and exams.

Well Sono, one of my 12 year old furballs has a heart murmur grade 2 and I talked with the vet about bringing her here, and the vet said she would be ok to travel unless the murmur got much worse (don't ask me about the grades!).
I think the restrictions will be more about the capability of the animal to travel a long distance rather than anything here. For British Airways, they will not let an animal travel if it is unable to stand unaided (i.e. it must not be sedated).
I'm sure however that if the animal was missing a leg or some such then some other test would apply.
When my girl was ill last month with her haematomas preventing her moving her legs, the vet was not hopeful given her age, but when she examined her she was amazed that, for example, her general physical condition was that of a much younger Egyptian cat and was totally amazed at how well she recovered.
What are the medical issues with your hairball?

It is the OFFICIAL term not the standard that is used.
Tigerlily is right. Both terms are used. Misr for the official use, and Masr for the regular every day use. But since you are not planning to be an anchorwoman any time soon, I don't think you should be going around telling people Misr.

FYI - a hairball is a slang term, referring to a cat or a dog. its an affectionate term, mostly. unless you don't care for cats or dogs, then it is used with disdain. another slang term might be fuzzball.
after taking care of a friend's cat for a month, and seeing all the fur all over the couches, I had been referring to her as a hairball and a fuzzball. with affection, of course.

It's not like Mr. Black luciousness himself, the male love puddy MANCHIE (think 'Chef' from South Park with a tail) would be embraced by half of MASR's population as a remedy for how SHITTY Egypt's male population of the homosapien kind truly is.
If 7ayat really loved and felt truly protective of MASR she would've never left Egypt for a Egyptian only in heritage, not in spoken language, nor in manner, neither spirit.
