I've located tiny bags of potting soil, and even flower & vegetable seeds, at the Alfa Market in Zamalek. Any suggestions about where to find window boxes/window box brackets/etc., preferably in Zamalek? Downtown or Garden City would do too; or even elsewhere that can be reached by taxi? I will surely get desperate in the coming weeks and months.

Nurseries and other gardening resources in the area would also be lovely to know about. I didn't bring my garden gloves all the way from the USA for nothing! [Big Grin]

Slugs! Oh, dear. You'd think they would just shrivel up and die here. I doubt my being a couple of floors higher than you would help! (I've had a gecko come visit outside my window.) [Razz]

Carrefour sounds like a place I will have to shop one of these days. They've been recommended to me for other things, too.
