This is another poem I wrote a year ago.
The Sparrow
12-28-03
The sparrow flew up to the gathering gray,
Aloft to the sunlight’s fading rays.
Beyond the storm, where sun shines bright –
To feel the warmth and find the light.
Away from the raging storm she flew,
Searching for mellow sunset hues.
Seeking shelter from her abandoned place,
To find the calm of Allah’s grace.
She saw a new world from her height,
Beyond the sins of humanity’s might.
A paradise created by Allah’s command,
Unnoticed by others, because of demand.
The sun dissolved into colorful lace,
A reminder to the human race -
That we must keep to the pathway straight
Or suffer eternity, like Shaytan’s fate.
Wise is the sparrow so meek and small,
To comprehend our humanity’s fall.
Allah’s creation lives in every being,
Give thanks to Allah for everything.
Back to the earth the sparrow flew,
The world now fresh from nature’s dew.
Bless those who pray and persevere,
For all mankind his message is clear.
Allah is God and the prayers we recite,
Are made with intentions, pure and right.
Live your life by Mohammed’s example
And rewards from Allah, will be ample.
