My Fiance came in from work tonight and told me over dinner that he NEVER wanted to come to the US and that he has a good life here. He said that we can make our life work here. Oh then he told me he registered the orfi and that it is stamped and we are married anyway.
I've packed my stuff and I am leaving today. I know some will say this is my just desserts,but I don't care. No one deserves to be treated like I am being now. I kicked him out!

Josette, I know the others will have tons of clever replies. I unfortunately do not. However, dont you love him? Maybe his mind will change in time. You are just begining your life together, if you truly do love him try and hang in there a bit longer. It must be very difficult living in a new, very different country, I can only imagine. But, ultimately, does it really matter where you live as long as you are with the man you love? Good Luck.

You got me feeling scared. Was your man all for the united states at first? I am coming there soon and I am afraid my man will do the same to me. Tell me what u think. My fiance lives in mahlla. We are very much in love and he only asked me to come for ten days and he would return with me. Just getting your opinion.

I will not tell you not to do it Lisa,but you need to be very clear with him about both of your expectations and how is he going to return with you? Does he have his visa in hand? I think you are an American and the visa process is a nightmare with the Cairo Embassy. My fiance started acting different when we got his interview appointment. He knew it was getting time to possibly leave and so that's when he gave me the news of not wanting to move.
Again, if you love him and are clear about what you expect, I say give it a chance. I'm just not sure how he's going to return with you after ten days????

I think it is because I act on impulses that they suppress and maybe it does get me into close situations sometimes,but it has never been something that I could not get myself out of. Anyway, I definitely think he is the one and we were brought together by fate for sure.

he doesn't have his visa in hand. he wants me to come to him and we get married before judge or court official and then get paperwork started and he is saying that all my paperwork and his paperwork will be started and somewhat done in ten days. Then he said i can go and either he will be able to go or he will come later. Ahmed told me about the interviews they do and he told me what to prepare myself for. He says he doesnt want me to live there with him coz he wants to get away from his family. But, I am just cautious. Ahmed knows how i feel, and he swears he would never keep me from being happy. I wish there was a way u could contact him and tell him your situation. It would put him at ease. He thinks i will back out of the whole thing. I wouldn't cause I love him. I feel I have to be careful though cause I have children involved. I am all these girls have. Maybe I am being too naive, i dont know. Thanks for listening Josette.

ahmedlisa - this 10 days thing sounds like the new line... I have been hearing about it a lot in the last 6 months or so... not sure why. But think about how stuff happens in Cairo - I would plan a little extra time. And yes, I would be suspicious of the "plan." Simply because it is not a foolproof plan. And because you have children. I don't understand why you would take the risk, but you must have your own reasons. I assume you know him "in person" and have dated him and learned about what he is like in real life already.

Given the fact that it has been superceded by the most whirlwind romance / getting off with a random stranger (delete as appropriate) known to man, surely Alchemist and SWYS it deserves a 9 for the juxtaposition of Joycean (non)sense and imagery with the tragic Shakespearean overtones of love and evil. Josette's journey is positively Chaucerian!
