I'm not sure where I should have posted this, hopefully it has ended up in the right place!

9 Things I Hate About Everyone

1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2 People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

3 When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

4 When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? Gonna Kick their asses!

5 When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.

6 People who ask "Can I ask you a question?".... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

8 When people say "life is short". What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

9 When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbass?

I think you may have missed the point, this was a JOKE!! I fail to see how poking fun at silly things people do (me included, I’m always pointing at my wrist when I ask for the time and a few of the other things listed) makes the world sick. God, if you can’t laugh at yourself then that is pretty sad.

Want to explain how this makes the world sick or maybe I just find it funny because of my British humour?

Thank you, I’m glad there are people out there who aren’t over-sensitive and can see the humour in this!

I thought it was funny, my son always asks me 'is dinner ready yet' and I always say 'yes its ready. I'm just not giving it to you'

or

'are we there yet?' like we would carry on driving if we were already there!

or

when you say 'sorry' instead of 'pardon', why should I be sorry for not hearing someone, why is that MY fault?

or

'Would you mind passing me that?' when they are NOT going to be happy with a 'yes' answer!

[Big Grin] whenever I say ‘could you pass me…..’ to my dad he’ll ALWAYS replies ‘I can pass it, do you mean would you pass ….?’ You’d have thought after all these years I would remember to ask properly. [Roll Eyes]

hum hum... interesting! So UK-ladies, it is wrong to say 'could you pass me the butter please?'
You have to say: 'Would you pass the butter please?'

Right??

desert girl: I'm not sure what is correct really, I try to say, 'please can you pass me the butter' as opposed to 'could you pass the butter' or 'would you mind passing the butter please' (because thats another one 'would you mind'...er...yes I would! )

so I think if you put 'please can you' in front of your request it leaves less room to bail out of it [Big Grin]

Right??

‘Could you’ is asking if someone is able to do something ‘would you’ is asking someone to actually do something. Loads of people say ‘can you’ when they want something passed, it’s just my dad being awkward and now I say it partly because I forget and partly to annoy him!! [Big Grin]
