We have just purchased 2 three bedroom apartments in Hurghada. One is available for immediate occupation and the other will be finished in July 07. We now have to furnish and equipment the first apartment and shortly do the same for the other.
One of our options is to source all the furniture and bits and pieces in Hurghada ourselves, but the thought of this feels us with dread. Firstly the choice is limited and secondly the prices are much higher. Also it recently took us 15 minutes to haggle the price of a LE20 watch battery!!!! What a waste of time.
Has anyone got any suggestions or recommendations? Is it feasible to hire a man with a van and drive to say, Maadi and purchase all our stuff from Carrefour and the other large stores there?

There is a guy in Al Salem street in Hurghada who makes very nice modern furniture for a reasonable price. You will need an Egyptian friend with you if you want to get the best price. This would be the cheapest way of furnishing an apartment.
