Just wondering if anyone have any comments on the following statement:
“Leonine (mjwy) may originally have been pronounced “Mahwee,” though it seems the word for lion (m3i) was pronounced “Mahree” in ancient times.”
Thanks a lot

If the correct pronunciation is 'mahree' then why do I hear 'maher' being used?
