There's a stone relief showing an attack on Waset with some of the inhabitants wearing a feather on their heads (the feather of maat), others not.

It's the image in the middle of the page
http://www.dignubia.org/maps/timeline/bce-0664.htm

I've heard that the ones with the feathers are Kushites and the ones without are indigenous Kemetians.

Can anyone else confirm this?

It's interesting because in clearer versions of the same picture, without the feathers, it would be hard to tell the Kushites and Kemetians apart. That is of course, if the ones wearing the feathers are Kushites and the ones without, Kemetians.

Hard to tell.

Both Egyptians and Nubians wore feathers.

claus3600 - The Assyrian troops are Esarhaddon's, the Nubian troops are Taharqa's.
