Where are the big names?
Ali Mazrui is a big name, Walter Rodney is a big name. Van Sertima is a big name. Most became university lecturers. All the ideas are there for African development. They are right there in Nkrumah's books--especially "Africa Must Unite". But rampant corruption and the hegemonic power of the IMF, World Bank, and France have taken toll. Read Fanon's chapter 4 of his "Wretched of the Earth"--"The Pitfalls of National Consciousness". This chapter highlights the greed, ignorance, selfishness and arrant materialism of Africa's new post-colonial money grabbing political classes. On Islam: an alien colonizing Arab religion that has corrupted and stupefied the African mind. Same as Christianity. British colonialism, French colonialism, Italian colonialism(Ethiopia),Portuguese colonialism and a very pervasive and a destructive Arab colonialism have all rendered the African mind woefully subservient and parkalyzed. The wickedness of Boko Haram testifies to this. [/qb]
The people you've mentioned are pioneering big names who set the foundation. I am talking about present day people when I am asking what are the big names. (Of course you could not mention them.) What progress have modern scholars done that caused breakthroughs? What maintaining work have they done? In other words: What are the archeological findings, anthropological findings etc... One of the main problems here is that many Blacks don't understand the word PROGRESSION. As I wrote before in this thread (first page) too many black people rely on things done (foundation) in the past, many many years ago ( stuck in this dream). Lazy to be pioneers in adventures yourself, so you look at old books to feel comfort. I don't have to read on politics, I am well aware of these politics. What made you think I don't know? As Dr. Wesley Muh Ammad explained, the vehicle didn't work, you have to try something else, but ignorant blacks resist because they are afraid. It's like a child getting away from home for the very first time, afraid to be independent. [/QB]
