Laura is absolutely right, no moderation is better than what we have put up with since ES Mod arrived. As for charging members, Sammy, you should be paying us! Other forums manage to have volunteer mods who treat members fairly, without sarcasm, rudeness and ridiculous 'cleaned' comments for the mildest of posts. No one is asking for too much here, just for a bit of common sense and fairness.

What's the difference? No moderation is at least fair to all members. The new mod didn't stop Sono returning, right after she was banned for what happened to Smuckers, did it? I agree that decent moderation is beneficial to all, but how do we get that?

ok, please dont lynch me but can we look at this another way.
I think he went too far the other night, but maybe he was kind of joining in the game, because thats what it was really. I complained also Lumos, and Amr has not been delete happy yesterday or today, so maybe he has realised he went to far.
Sammy hasn't replied to me individually either. But he has come on this thread to respond, so its kind of a response, and Amr really does keep apologising for what happened before. Like you said yourself, probably got sucked into it without giving it enough thought to begin with.
If i know one thing about Egyptian men, they dont like to admit when they are wrong, so maybe we should let it go now.
We all like this forum, and i am sure he isn't going to continue in the way he has, because, for one thing, he would have to be at the pc 24/7.
But I do have one request, can we still carry on making funny pictures and laughing about it, because it was a funny night

I don't care how many hits this forum gets a month, those people come here to read the posts that the much fewer regulars make. Without us, this whole site is merely an empty shell. So saying we should find somewhere else is like cutting your nose off to spite your face. You might not be able to make everyone happy, but considering it seems a majority of the regulars are not happy, perhaps there should be a little rethinking going on. Now, fine threads and posts are getting deleted, merely because of who posted it, or because they didn't comply with a silly rule (such as things being off topic). The only problem we really had before was with a couple of people purposely attacking others. It doesn't take much moderation to deal with that. If you find moderating the board difficult, then ask around for volunteers- members who have been here for a while, and have not had problems. Don't go for someone who clearly has history of abuse. And now that so many people have complained about him, perhaps it is time to rethink that decision.

With respect sammy page 'views' are not posts, page views do not need any moderation.
There have been a vast number of deletions and edits since the new mod gained power and none were attacks on other members or porn but simple, normal debate and discussion and ALL were nothing to do with the spam clean ups.
This place has run smoothly with bumps for many years without this level of moderation. Anyone had a problem they could report it and you in the background would eventually sort it but this is over the top, biased, unfair moderation by a moderator that is neither moderate or fair who also has done more than his fair share of abusive posts in the past.

I hope the 'you' in this is directed at us all and not just at one member who has had her say on this matter. Amr this is the problem. You are having a go PERSONALLY towards some members for things that have nothing to do with their posts. I have no idea about 'hidden support groups' or people wanting to photoshop your pics but again that is to do with other things not ES, and what is wro g with people having a 'hidden support group' or a support group of any kind, thats what we are here for. There is always gossip between cliquey groups, in forums and in real life, it happens, its normal, the thing is not to believe all you hear just because you like that person and they have met you 'in real', this is not about your character as Amr its about your job as ES_MOD.

I didn't give you my word that I wouldn't ever open the subject. I thanked you for your apology for posting lies about me and said I would move on. Your public apology was crass, but your PM seemed genuine and I respected that. Your biased moderation then became an issue. I didn't expect the person who posted the nastiest lies about my father, my family, my husband and my life to be made a mod. Would you trust someone who had done such a thing to you? No, you would forgive them, perhaps, but not readily trust. Not many people here would trust a mod who posted lies about them and their family, gloated over it and used names like 'bitch'. Ever thought that maybe people are not attacking to be on the friend side, but because they do not agree with how you are running things?? You are right, I don't know you, I am basing my opinion on you clearly on how you are moderating the boards, hence why it is a low opinion- You are not listening to advice and guidance from the members, instead attacking those who disagree. There have been a few posts that did not need to get deleted, and the only reason I can think of is because you have a personal vendetta against the poster. I will let the dude comment slide- Does weirdkitty sound manly to Egyptians or something?? lol. The only thing that needed moderating (other than the rare case or flooding and porn) was the high level of abuse that happened over the last few weeks. That was only because of a couple of members here, and now it seems the whole forum is paying the price.

No Amr we have never clashed until now. My points raised regarding the moderation are valid and shared by many others, not just Lumos, and I normally will 'support' anyone I feel is being 'picked on' regardless of who they are (except sono ). But this isnt just happening to Lumos its happening to all of us, Lumos has voiced her opinions on it as others have so why pick on her now? Do you think those who have voiced an opinion are in some wierd support group to object to this treatment? sorry we are grown ups and cant really be arsed with that pettiness. What was worse was how he tried to use his influence with Sammy to get me banned, after posting a hoax about me, for his friend. The truth does always prevail though, as someone said to me at the time. Now, can we steer this away from personal attacks and concentrate on what a range of members have been complaining about - biased moderation and unnecessary deletions.

YOU told ES recently that after you posted the nasty hoax about me that you asked Samnmy to ban ME. He didn't. YOU also asked him to delete the thread, probably as you were criticised for doing so by members. Given your comments, why would I have reason to think you would make an unbiased mod? i think enough have been said for now on this topic , and every one can make his own view of what been written here . the rules of the forum samy have already said it here . posts about porn , attacking other people , profanity will be deleted .

This is the kind of nonsense I am talking about. Show me just ONCE where I have 'called you names' in any of the ES Mod posts. YOU called me names, you have sworn and behaved badly, yet I forgave you. You can't seem to distinguish between why I don't trust you as a Mod and our previous clashes. I suggest you stop listening to gossips and concentrate on moderating, not settling petty scores for your 'friends'. None of this has made you look good.
