Marvel Announces Female-led "A-Force" From Wilson, Bennett, Molina
There’s a new super team arriving in the Marvel Universe and they’re a force to be reckoned with. Marvel has announced via Mashable the debut of "A-Force," a new team and series from co-writers G. Willow Wilson ("Ms. Marvel") and Marguerite Bennett ("Angela: Asgard’s Assassin") and artist Jorge Molina ("X-Men").
Heading up the lineup will be She-Hulk, Dazzler, Medusa, Nico Minoru, a "cosmically powered" new hero named Singularity as well as other heroes yet to be revealed. The cover art from Jim Cheung features Marvel heroines from all parts of the universe, including Rogue, Storm, Wasp, Elektra, Aurora, Spectrum, Black Widow, Firestar, Hellcat, Jubilee, Moondragon and others. Fitting in with "Secret Wars'" multiverse mash-up feel, some of the characters on the cover are wearing older duds -- She-Hulk is back in her '80s Avengers uniform while Rogue is rocking her '90s Jim Lee look -- alongside characters sporting newer designs, like Captain Marvel and Spider-Gwen.
“We've purposefully assembled a team composed of very different characters -- from disparate parts of the Marvel U, with very different power sets, identities and ideologies," said Wilson in the announcement. "They'll all have to come together to answer some big questions: What would you sacrifice to succeed? What is being a hero worth?”
In what has to be considered a shock, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Kevin Tsujihara has been named CEO of Warner Bros. replacing Barry Meyer and beating out TV head Bruce Rosenblum and film head Jeff Robinov, The three has been locked in an internal battle to see who could outlast who, and Bewkes went with the far less known Tsujihara. Nikki Finke has some of the gory details, which seem as intent on causing Rosenblum and Robinov’s privates to shrink to post-icy-dip size as much as business considerations:
Time Warner Chairman/CEO Jeff Bewkes just destabilized Warner Bros in a big way with today’s shockingly unexpected announcement. I actually heard about this two weeks ago from a source – and I didn’t believe it. That’s not a knock on Kevin Tsujihara’s ability. But no way Bewkes could ignore the fact that Bruce Rosenblum’s Warner Bros TV accounts for 50% of overall Warner Bros. But Bewkes did. In fact, insiders tell me that Bewkes further humiliated Rosenblum and Warner Bros Film topper Jeff Robinov by not telling them about the choice of Tsujihara. I understand they had to hear about it at the last minute late last week from outgoing Barry Meyer.
But you know, that’s how they roll in Hollywood.
According to this very informative LA Times story by Meg James Tsujihara won out in part because he turned out to be a superior manager, with a low key manner that fit in with Bewkes goal of a more genteel executive style. In his current role, Tsujihara oversees not only home entertainment but digital.
As for how this will affect DC, you’ll hear a lot of Kremlinologist theories in the next few days, but at least Tsujihara has a good idea of what DC does: he ran the division for a while in the ’00s, personally overseeing Paul Levitz and ordering such things as the hiring of Gregory Noveck and the position once held by Steve Rotterdam. Under Tsujihara the home entertainment division also began turning out an ongoing and well received series of direct to DVD animated DC movies, as well.
In fact, you could argue that he’s had better success at leveraging the DC Comics brand than Robinov has at the film studio.
Tsujihara’s inside knowledge of DC could have a huge impact on the film studio. Certainly getting the DC film slate up and running to counter Disney’s running the table with Marvel has to be high on the priority list for anyone at Warner Bros.

During a Warner Bros. investors meeting, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced the WB DC Comics films slate going up to the year 2020. Among the films was a new Green Lantern movie scheduled for a 2020 release.
Now to address the point all of you are wondering about. Will John Stewart be the star of this upcoming Green Lantern film? Well… we have no idea.
There is something very suspicious going on with that property. Most of the other movies announced have their stars listed with them. Jason Mamoa is confirmed as Aquaman, and Ezra Williams will be The Flash. The Shazam movie has yet to announce its star, and Green Lantern is a big question mark, as well.
For so long, Warner Bros. has been holding off on revealing the secret about how they will approach the Green Lantern franchise for their new cinematic universe. Many fans (including yours truly), have hollered out for John Stewart to be the star, especially considering the 2011 Green Lantern film featured Hal Jordan and ended up being a failure.
There are many positive reasons to make the change. First, John Stewart is already very well known to audiences from his starring role in the popular Justice League and Justice League Unlimited cartoons. Secondly, changing the face of the Lantern for future films will help in distancing them from the 2011 flop. Third, it would be great to see more major superheroes who are Black on the big screen.
The cries for John Stewart can’t be ignored, and I’m sure they have made their way to executive ears. The only reasons I can see for WB being so secretive about Green Lantern are that they’re not sure what they’re going to do, or they’re going to do something different and are waiting for the right time to drop the news on fans. If it is just the same old stuff over again, I don’t see the point of the closed mouthed attitude they’ve been taking.

BREAKING: Drea de Matteo Joins "Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD"

Marvel has announced that Drea de Matteo will appear on an upcoming episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." following the series' return from its current winter hiatus. The Emmy award-winning actress will play Karla Faye Gideon, described as a "gifted woman with a grudge to bear against S.H.I.E.L.D. who joins forces with Skye’s father, Cal."
Gideon is a name that may not be familiar to even the most diehard of Marvel fans, but the character does come from the comics. Karla Faye Gideon appeared in the 2005 "Daredevil: Redemption" limited series by David Hine and Michael Gaydos as a victim of domestic violence and mother of a murdered child. Her decision to stand by her husband put her at odds with Daredevil over the course of the miniseries.
The description of de Matteo's character bears little resemblance to her non-superpowered namesake. Given the events of the midseason finale, which saw Skye undergoing a transformation into a super-powered Inhuman, the word "gifted" implies that de Matteo could be another Inhuman. Her association with Skye's father, Dr. Calvin Zabo, also raises a few Inhuman flags.
de Matteo most recently starred in FX's "Sons of Anarchy" as Wendy Case and was seen before that in the ABC primetime soap "Desperate Housewives." The actress won an Emmy award in 2004 for her role as Adriana La Cerva in HBO's "The Sopranos."
A number of other high profile guest stars will appear in the back half of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" second season. Jaimie Alexander is scheduled to reprise her role as Sif in an episode, while Luke Mitchell will play an Inhuman guide for Skye. Edward James Olmos and Blair Underwood are also set to play pivotal roles in the second half of season two.
"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns to ABC on March 3.

Director Bryan Singer has announced on his Instagram that newcomer actress Lana Condor has been cast in the role of Jubilee.
The Jubilee character is no stranger to X-Men in film, as the character has been portrayed in the original X-Men by Katrina Florece, X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand by Kea Wong, and even in the nearly-forgotten Generation X televisionmovie by Heather McComb. Furthermore, Jubilee was in earlier versions of the X-Men: Days of Future Past script, with official concept art being created using actress Jamie Chung's likeness before being cut from the movie.
This would seem to be Condor's first major role, as the actress has no listed roles in television or movies as per IMDB.
X-Men: Apocalypse is due in theatres May 27, 2016, with filming announced as beginning this April.

"Flash," "Arrow" Spinoff In Development Starring Routh, Garber, Lotz and Miller
When first announced, the "Flash" and "Arrow" spinoff, described as a team-up series, was said to feature three DC characters never before depicted on TV. Deadline's report states that Hawkgirl is said to be not one of those characters, having appeared on "Smallville" as portrayed by Sahar Biniaz.
Renée's highest-profile credits thus far are on Broadway, having appeared in "Big Fish" and "Pippin." Last year, she guest-starred on an episode of "Law & Order: SVU."
The "Flash" and "Arrow" spinoff is set to star Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom on "Arrow"), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold on "Flash"), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave on "Flash"), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/one-half of Firestorm on "Flash") and Caity Lotz in an as-yet undisclosed role, following the death of her "Arrow" character of Sara Lance at the start of this season. "Flash" and "Arrow" vets Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim are set to executive produce.
CHEO HODARI COKER WILL SERVE AS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND SHOWRUNNER OF MARVEL’S LUKE CAGE FOR NETFLIX

The military force of the great African nation known as Wakanda.
The military force of Wakanda has been a loyal army to their leader and commander the Black Panther. They often intergrate their military tactics with traditional and high-tech weaponry. The soldiers are heavily skilled and highly capable combatents. In corrospondance with their cultural identity, the soldiers are apparently free to dress in either traditional attire or high-tech. They use guns, sword, and any other weapon their nation has at its disposal. Part of their ferocity stems from their national pride as Wakandans.
Amongst their ranks are several special categories
Dora Milaje - The personal guards and possible wife of the Black Panther. Picked from neighboring tribes to insure local peace, these women are heavily trained warriors. Their name translates to mean "Adored Ones". They often use swords, spears, or a staff, but have also been seen using firearms. Appearance wise they usually sport a shaved look accompanied with traditional tattooes, but have been seen with small braids or even straightened hair under infultration circumstances. During the Doom War, the Black Panther Shuri outfitted a unit of Dora Milaje with vibranium suits and advanced equipment.
Hatut Zeraze - A disbanded espionage unit once used to handle secret and rather brutal operations. Led by the White Wolf

Biography Abandoned on the doorsteps of the Russian Foreign Minister in 1945, he was later adopted by a local family. His greatest desire was for new experiences. He was adopted but his parents eventually died making him a ward of the state. Abram was recruited into a secret government project as the civil rights movement raged in America. He dated a white woman by the name of Eva though he did not love her enough to leave the program. When he was chosen as the person for the mission he ended the relationship with Eva. He was secretly sent into space and would return to earth in 50 years. Its unknown where his ship went but by the time he returned to earth he had gained vast superhuman powers and abilities [Divinity #1, 2015].
Upon gaining his powers and abilities he traveled back to the moment he was abandoned in 1945 simply to observe.

"12 Years a Slave" Screenwriter Reportedly Working with Marvel on TV Project
John Ridley, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of 2013's "12 Years a Slave," is reportedly working with Marvel Television on a potential series, according to a Friday report from Entertainment Weekly. It's described as "reinventing an existing Marvel superhero character or property for ABC," though what that character or property may be isn't yet clear.
John Ridley is reportedly working on an undisclosed Marvel adaptation.
Both Marvel and ABC declined comment on EW's story. Marvel Television also declined comment when reached by CBR. This news comes a week after word surfaced of a "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." spinoff reportedly in the works at ABC.
Ridley has experience in the comic book world -- he wrote the 2004 original graphic novel "The Authority: Human on the Inside" for WildStorm/DC Comics, and subsequent WildStorm miniseries "The American Way" and "The Razor's Edge," along with penning episodes of the "Justice League" and "Static Shock" animated series. He's currently working with ABC on the series "American Crime," which he created.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" Trailer Officially Released
Following a pirated version surfacing online Thursday, the first "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" trailer has been released officially, with director Zack Snyder posting it to Twitter on Friday afternoon. While the leaked trailer was blurry -- likely recorded on a cell phone -- with Portuguese subtitles, the official version spotlights the first look at Warner Bros.' DC Comics-based trailer in crisp HD.
Starring Ben Affleck in his first turn as Batman and Henry Cavill reprising his "Man of Steel" title role, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is scheduled for release on March 25, 2016.

Munn is a familiar face to many fans of genre entertainment, having co-hosted G4's "Attack of the Show!" from 2006 to 2010. Her acting resume has grown significantly in recent years, with roles in "Magic Mike," "Deliver Us From Evil" and HBO's "The Newsroom," along with a brief appearance in "Iron Man 2." She joins a cast including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Evan Peters and Oscar Isaac as the titular villain.
Betsy Braddock/Psylocke was created by Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe, and first appeared in 1976's "Captain Britain" #8, before being introduced into X-Men mythology a decade later with 1986's "New Mutants Annual" #2. She became a prominent X-Men team member, and one of the the most popular characters, in the midst of the X-books' early '90s popularity. A character named Psylocke, played by Meiling Melançon, appeared briefly in 2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand."

The untitled "Flash"/"Arrow" spinoff gains another cast member in Franz Drameh, who will play Jay Jackson on the show.
Drameh is known for his roles in "Edge of Tomorrow" and "Attack the Block."

"Flash" and "Arrow" vets Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim are set to executive produce.

Biography Born in an undisclosed African nation of Inhumans, he was adopted by an American family at a young age. In Northern Minesota where he grew up he was the only black person he knew in eight years. As time went on he began to long for the day he could just leave his small quaint home town because he just felt like he did not belong. At age seventeen he became rebellious as he waited for one more year to be “free”. During the events of Infinity after king Black Bolt detonated the Terrigen bomb he was forced to evacuate his home along with his family and his entire community [Inhuman #5].
While waiting on the bus with the others however they found the road blocked and his father finally revealed that all the people of the town were of Inhuman descent and he was adopted from an African tribe of the Same ancestry. As the Terrigen washed over them they all found themselves transformed [Inhuman #5].
Upon breaking from his cocoon he found himself changed but no one else from his town had undergone successful rebirth [Inhuman #5]. Found by Lash he was taken to Orollan and inducted into their ranks. Renamed Korvostax by Lash Jason was told of the evil Inhuman queen Medusa and the History of the lost Inhuman city. When Orollan was attacked by Medusa he chose to leave with her [Inhuman #3].
In the city of Atillan he was “Quarantined” as they learned the scope of his powers and whether it was safe or not for him to roam the city. He bonded with Dante during this time and met Lineage who revealed his real family in Africa were still alive and well [Inhuman #4]. When New Attilan was taken over by the Unspoken he joined with his fellow Nuhumans to take back the city [Inhuman #5]. In the decisive battle with the villain he was the one who destroyed the Terrigen crystals thus depriving him of his powers and allowing Dante to take him out. In the process however Vinatos the chief scientist of the Inhumans was killed [Inhumans #6]. After the events of AXIS where Medusa had her personality changed he witnessed this at the funeral rites of Vinatos [Inhumans #9]. When Iso was brought to New Attilan Flint was again present to defend the city from the agents of Ennilux [Inhumans #11-12].
The two quickly grew close due to her aptitude with machines. While working on a portal doorway device his powers underwent a change and the rocks disappeared from his face and the two shared a kiss [Uncanny Inhumans #1, 2015].

The X-Men can leave Earth and seek a new home in space. That would be one of the repercussions of Secret Wars saga, which begins this month in the series of Marvel Comics in the USA. The chief editor Axel Alonso had said in interviews that mutants "would take the opportunity to Secret Wars to build a whole new world for her characters - to create a shared universe between the titles of X line." According to the sources of Bleeding Cool, this new world is literally another planet. In the plot of the series, X-Men discover that, terrigenous mists, the Inhumans - material that catalyzes the transformation of the Inhumans; understand - it is lethal to mutants. With the mists spread across the globe, after the explosion of a terrigenous bomb, mutants decide to leave the planet and look for a new home in space. If confirmed this event is another step in the direction of the publisher to give more importance to the Inhumans and put the X-Men corner. Although they have some of the best selling Marvel titles, mutants have their adaptation rights to the movies in the area of Fox competitor. By removing the X-Men from Earth, the publisher isolates over these characters contact the other superheroes of the house.

The ultimate aim of The Chosen is to resurrect the powerful, ancient demon Runihura, and bring about another demon invasion of the world of humans.
